Will the smell come back?

I cut a plant and decided to wash it since it had spider mites. I treated the plant 2 weeks before harvest with Capt Jacks Dead Bug, then again a week before harvest. I washed the buds with peroxide and water in the 1st bucket, lemon and baking soda in the second bucket, and plain water in the third for the final rinse. Shook off the excess water and hung them outside for a few hours before taking them into the drying room. Room temp run around 62 to 66 on average with 59 to 63 rh. Did this yesterday. Check on them today and noticed they now have no real smell. Just wondering if the smell will return during the curing stage or did I screw something up.

After they dry for a bit, the aroma should return. Curing a couple/few weeks after drying usually gets that good good smell back.

Awesome. I was hoping to hear that. Thanks.

I hate the stressful grassy smell the first few days of drying…always freaks me out inside…no matter how many harvests I get under my belt.

That’s been my experience, I can bag them with little smell and a few weeks later the funk is there :love_you_gesture:

That would have been fine if it had a grassy smell, but they literally had no smell what so ever. They are starting now to get an aroma. This is day 2 of drying. They have at least 10 to 12 days to go. Buds are pretty dense.

I’m with the gang. The smell should come back. I’ve washed dozens of harvests and the smell always came back during the cure.

I think I am going to start doing bud washes…if I can avoid the grassy smell, which I dislike, that would be a bargain!

Apparently people say if you wash your buds, it’ll be the smoothest smoke ever. This is my 1st time. Kinda anxious ti see, taste , and smell the final result. I’ll update in several weeks after the dry and cure.

I appreciate it!

Every time I see your posts…I think if my old cars…'76 Camaro…and my 2013 Camaro…I miss them. Have a truck/suv(vs a car tiny SUV) now…I miss being low to the ground and fast.

I hope you have a great day!

Brings back memories. I had 68 mustang fastback with a 289. 4 barrel Holly carburetor, posi rear. With 60s on the back and 70s on the front and craiger keystone classic rims.

The ending of my 76 was the installation of dual quads on the 350 with 4 bolt main… fishtailed into a curb leaf spring shot through the floor board…luckily no one was in the back or in passenger seat. Sh!t was scary when it happened. I had gotten it welded up…but was never the same again.

I had gone away for a weekend with my girlfriend, came home and my older sisters boyfriend had surprised me and installed everything…after his upgrade it lasted for 3 months.

Had chrome centerlines, black primer finish…was saving for the paint job…Kenwood stereo and eq…trunk full of speakers and amps.

Was about '91 when I sold it to a welder that ended up ultimately junking it.

That crazy. I finally sold mine. Had starter issues and after the 3rd starter in 2 months, I got fed up. Took it to a shop, they put a starter in a week later the same issues. The shop replaced it 2 more times. Got tired of messing with it so it sat for 2 months and my buddy offered me 800 for it. Took it to his house. Ended up being a bad connection to the solenoid. Go figure. That’s when I learned to look at the simple issues 1st. He ended up taking it to Arizona, getting balls high on acid and turned into a mad max vehicle. Fuckin put bullet holes down the side of it. Graffiti paint job. It was sad, but a little cool looking.

The longer they sit in the cure bags or mason jars the more aroma will generate. Bud washing didn’t affected negatively :victory_hand:

I built a long time ago, thanks for the good memory

Nice. Good times. The kids today will never know a true muscle car. We always had a joke growing up, if the car sounded like it was gonna stall out when it idled, it was fast as hell. We have a dude around the neighborhood here who has suped up Nova. He took off and chirped then wheels in every gear. That bitch is fast. I’m guessing an easy 10 second quarter mile.

No shit we had a blast
I’m still working on a couple old Fords, 1 with a 350 chevy and 1 with ford 352 drivetrains (not muscle cars but cool trucks)

1954 F100 is done, chevy drivetrain but it needs a new starter, at his last show the bendix went out and he wants new headers while I’m there

1956 F100 panel van I have the driveline, brakes, steering, and new wiring done needs minor body work and paint

Sweet. I love the old panel vans.
