Will an autoflower survive transplant at early flowering stage?

Good morning all,

First time grower so learning as i go.
I m kinda of in a weird situation, I have 1 autoflower that needs to be transplanted from the one gallon pot to 5 gallon.
Yesterday i read that auto does not like to be transplanted and have a 50/50 chance of dying, is that true?
I m at week one of flowering (was not expecting the plant to flower at week 2 of veg) has people been succesful transfering auto at flowering? Any tips?

Thanks

Seems a bit over the top. Most growers won’t transplant autos as you don’t want to stress them when you don’t know when they are going to flower. If the plant is only a couple of weeks old you can probably go for it. If it is already flowering I would let it go.

Agree with @MidwestGuy if it is flowering at 2 weeks leave it in the one gallon probably not going to amount to much anyway.

If its in a fabric pot you can simply set it inside a 5 without removing it. It will root right through the fabric.

Edit: I found your first post and see its a solid container. The plant looks good and healthy. Water it well and just go ahead and transplant it. I think you will be just fine. Try to do it without disturbing the roots too much and then water the whole ting again.
She is a healthy specimen and should do just fine.

Quick update, just finished transplanting no root bound seen but i would have like yo see less crumble when unpotting/transfering will try to do better in the futur. I will follow up as the days goes by.

Thanks

Never had any issue with transplanting autos. Make sure to have some mycorrhizae on hand to throw in the transplant hole and sprinkle on the root ball. Will greatly reduce any transplant shock.

I’m actually a big advocate of transplanting autos, but I don’t think I see any point of transplanting one that’s in flower already. You have to weigh the risk vs reward. It’s pretty much done setting roots once it shifts it’s energy to blooming, so I don’t think there’s much to gain.
To answer your direct question, no, I don’t think you’re risking her death by doing the transplant, but I think you’ll get better results letting her finish in the one gallon pot and make sure to feed/water often because of the small amount of soil.

I agree, you would really have to butcher the root system to kill a mature plant from transplanting. At most I think you would stall plant out and it just wouldn’t be a good producer.

I’ve also seen some very nice plants in 1 gallon pots. They just require more frequent watering/feeding.

I think autos are a lot tougher in general than they get credit for. Maybe the genetics are getting better than they were at first.

I love my photos :v:

One week after tranplant, i trimmed some of the fan leaves that was chilling on the top of some flowers.
Looks healthy to me, any thought?

Almost at 6 weeks
Can anybody help me does she looks ready ordoes she has a few more weeks to go.
