Transplant or leave alone

I planted several auto flowers in 2 gallon containers, white widow strain. I am trying to grow outside. My last inside attempt failed. I think I probably should have used bigger pots but I have heard that auto flowering plants don’t like to be transplanted. The plants are not flowering yet. Should I transplant or let them be?

How long ago did you plant them? Also how big are they?

Autos tend to do as they please, as u may or may not not. And disturbing them can cause them to trigger flowering, stunting valuable vegging time.

But if you think they can benefit from bigger pots, and they aren’t yet flowering? I say be gentle and go for it. Outdoors, autos can get huge.

Indoors 2-3 gallon pots are usually plenty of space though.

If its a fabric pot just set it inside a larger one.
Roots grow right through the fabric.

Set it as deep in the new pot as you wish.

I have transplanted all my autos with no problems. I think a lot of what everybody hears was passed down bad information and weak genetics with first autos to come out. As @PurpNGold74 said they do what they want no matter what. That’s where they got the name from. @Spiney_norman is :100: percent correct with the roots growing straight through. This is a plant with a strong wil to live just like a yard weed LoL

Good to know. I am kinda a control person. I’ll keep telling myself that they will do what they do and try to let go. I’m a real rookie. Thanks

If you choose to transplant an you are in fabric pots, you can always take a razor knife and sacrifice the pot without damaging anything. Plastic pot cutting disc an peal back the sides like a banana  good luck :v:

Not sure what I will do right now. They are 22, 14 and 13 inches tall and have been growing 6 weeks. I sure don’t want them to flower. They are way not ready.
