Trimming and trimming

After dried When trimming leaves and sugar leaves some u can get to the stem and pluck the whole leaf out but some are brittle and flake off. Will this change the smoke or anything

I think that’s the Captain’s descretion pal, it sounds like you’re trying to trim really close and pretty, if that’s the buds you like thats OK. You might end up with a lot of sticky good quality trim, good for oils and stuff, if yu dont make extracts you might be wasting some. But I leave a little leafy, I find it rolls better joints and chops up better.
IMO If your buds are lots potent and have flavor a bit of leaf wont ruin it

Dont know any, but popular topic and activity on the forum, more than I wouldve thought

I just stopped hitting my buds with scissors. When i make oils i use whole bud. I pluck the fans by hand. All the little TRICHOME covered leaves on the flower I just leave. As they cure the brittle leaves break off. Most curl in and are just part of the bud. Tasty actually. Most strains today have a lot of trichs and not just deep in the flower. Trimming to look good I can see if selling it. Personal use I could care less if looks pretty. All my lids back in the 70’s and early 80’s were baggies with a cola and sometimes all the fans. That is where we got all the shake.

I stopped trimming like that 2 runs ago. I hit the big fan leaves and leave the sugar ones. If it doesn’t have trichs on it it’s got to go in other words. @Jaysittinback I agree I think it helps joints smoke better and I don’t make edibles or oils so I want all the smokeable stuff possible. @Storm :joy::joy::joy::joy::point_up::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::point_up: cola and fans leaves for a zip:rofl::rofl::joy::joy: old school right there. I don’t care about looks either it’s just personal medicine for the wifey and myself.

I use one of those bowl trimmers. Saves me hours. Is it as good as hand trimming, no, but it does a pretty fine job, and when you have lots it’s a life saver.
