Total newbie - Two plants but one is struggling

Hi! I am totally new to all of this. I planted two white widow auto flower seeds and they sprouted a little over 3 weeks ago. We just started the fox farms trio and used the chart that everyone is always recommending here as to how much to add. One of the plants looks great (I think?) but the other is getting dry and crusty with spots. They’re the exact same age, same soil (also fox farms), same pot and watered from the same jug. I’m stumped… any ideas? Should we take the dying leaves off? Thanks!!

Is it only on the bottom set of leaves? To me it looks like you may have splashed water on them and light magnified it.

Others may have more experienced ideas for you.

Welcome!

Welcome to the ultimate forum! Anytime you have leaves on the soil they will rot. Plants look great. Cut them off and keep on going!
Good luck and Keep’em growin! :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

Thank you so much! I knew not to get them wet on top but didn’t realize that about laying on the soil.

Love this forum, I swear I’ve used the search function 2-3 times a day the last three weeks

Thank you! It is the bottom ones only, so that makes a lot of sense.

Thanks

Have you checked your run off PPMs 3 weeks is a little early to start feeding your plants.

BTW, don’t ever be shy about being new. We have all been there.

Read journals similar to yours. @Bulldognuts @kellydans @Oldguy are just a few smart ones on here. If you ever have a question just use the @ symbol in front of their name like @CocoaHooves and they will get a notification to your thread that your posting on. :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

You can remove them I agree with the others your plants look good taking pictures of the whole plant makes it easier to diagnose any problems

Close visual of soil looks like dry outside (most extreme), but moist inside elsewhere.
Might get better results with lighter watering, farther from base of plant. Scissors will pretty her leaf damage.

FF soil usually does not need nutes for 4 to 5 weeks. Checking your runoff will let you know if they need to be fed.
Welcome to the neighborhood :grinning:

With FFOF you can go 5-6 weeks before you need to and nutes Happy frog 4-5 weeks. 3 weeks is too soon to be adding nutes. Always best to test runoff before ever adding nutes to FF soil. Clip off any leaf touching the ground.

Thanks for the tag as @plumbdand an @beachglass mentioned Fox farm soil should have you covered at this point go with PH water 6.5 Also when you start feeding go with about a half dose. Most of the time less better. Happy growing !
