It’s coming up to the time where I can start my seeds indoors in preparation for my outdoor grow. I’m talking general vegetables like tomato’s, cucumber, onions, etc. Can I start them in the same room as my floating plant? I’m wondering if the vegetables are ok to start on a 12/12 light schedule? As it gets nicer I will transition the to outdoors/sunlight.

Some vegetables don’t care, day neutral. Some need more light hours, depends on plants. You could start them in there, but may need to get them out after they start growing or increase light hours.

So many variables to work with with so many veggies to choose from. Most will need more light.

yes you can with tomatoes, cucumbers as long as they get sufficient light in that 12 hr period. Onions depend on variety what photo period they prefer, but I beleive most require more than 12hr for bulb formation. You can do a quick search for each plant you want to grow to find out if they are day neutral, long day, or short day plants.
