Its almost mid january here and i was wondering does anybody start vegging their plants early indoors? Or maybe just start it in the window for now just so it will be more ready for outside? Im just trying to get some big ladies this year ha!
Depending on how many you want to do, and where you are it could be a good idea. As long as you have proper lights to handle them all that time and you take your time getting them used to sunlight. We used to do all our starts 6-8 weeks ahead of planting season.
Starting them inside gets you off to a good start, but remember, if you put them out before mid-may they will probably begin to flower, then reveg.
I usually start a few mid april to go outside mid may.
Really why is that because the light outside right i may bring them inside at night to avoid that i was thinking about starting some indoors mid march. Have them outside by mid april
Thats what i was going to do i want to have some monsters this year after seeing what i can do last year im going all out this year
Watch your local farmers when they set out their crops (tomatoes , tobacco peppers. Ect. At that point ground will be getting warmer an no more frost which will kill small plants good luck
We start all of our veg plants inside under lights but not until early to mid March. We’re in upstate NY, so few things can go outside before the middle of May. That all works well for my cannabis plants, too. Last year was my first attempt, and the plants got to around 12 feet tall by the end of August. This year, my goal is to prevent that un manageable height.
I’m in Southwest FL and will probably be starting mine inside within in the next week before moving outside.
First time growing alone outside near Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho. I started my AK-47 seeds (5) I had left over from my dad before he died. I started them in my Southwest facing window the beginning of May. They sprouted within days. I was surprised they kept them there for about 4 weeks. I think I would open the window. Let the cool air in and gradually try to harden them for being transferred outside approximately 4 weeks. I don’t remember exactly. The plants for about 7 to 8 in tall when I decided to move them outside where I planted them in a mixture of soil from my pasture and some generic soil I bought from home Depot. The soil on my property seems to have lots of nutrients in it. It had been in a flood plain for hundreds of years I guess and the generic style from home Depot was to make it airier. I did have a massive amount of worms and ladybugs and the butterflies seem to really like the plants.
I didn’t add any other extra nutrients or fertilizers to the plants until the end of July or the beginning of September when I used a watered-down mixer of Miracle-Gro which really made the girls perk up and grow a lot and from there I just gently trim them. I never did it a lot at one time because I didn’t want to stress them out and I harvested them today in honor of my dad and I want to post some pictures. He was the real pot grower. I was really struggling with whether I was harvesting them too soon, but I didn’t want to wait too long because I like the stevia effect more than the indica in my '60s. Some years I never really was a pot smoker but I get it now. It really does help with the pain. I hope I get these pictures in order
Nice plant and welcome to the community
Very nice, love the large colas. Good luck finishing up
Had this happen this year with my king sherb! Was a 7 finger leaf plant then all of sudden it startedgrowing buds and single finger leaves! Thought it was Ruderalis at first but it quickly switched back to veg and it’s one of my favorites
Man you ain’t lying. I’ve got a flapjacks plant is that 14 feet tall and i hate it. Hard to find stakes longer than 8 ft. It’s been a nightmare trying to support her
Thank you. I have one plant that I didn’t harvest that I was waiting to see if maybe the smaller buds matured a little more and it looks like that might be the case. I’ll send some more pictures tonight
Thank you. I saved one plant that I’m going to let try to grow the little buds a little bit more. It might be working. I will send pictures tonight or tomorrow
You can always do a partial harvest
