Sprout indoors or out?

For those that grow outdoors do you sprout inside and transplant?
Or do you just germinate outside?
What was the longest time that you Vegeta plant before sticking it outside or before Harding It off?

I start my plants inside in April and transplant them outside in June. Once in awhile I start a seed outside in May. This year I have some clones from last year that will be at least 6ft tall when they get transplanted. I started 3 seeds yesterday. If they pop up they’ll be under lights until memorial day.

June 4th

This all gives me hope. I have a girl I used for a mom I flipped all the plants she grew with. I was gonna stick her outside but have been weary. She’s been vegging for about 8 plus weeks. I also have a few clones and some seeds I just popped. Not exactly sure what’s going outside. Yet. It’s my first year doing outdoor.

These are the ones she vegged with

Nice looking plants. Are the ones that are going outside gonna be in pots or directly in the ground. Since those clones and the mother plant are sexually mature you are gonna want to wait until end of May to put them out.

theyre going in pots. i have a 45 and two 20 gallons that i just put cover crop in.
why is it that youd need to wait till end of may for Asexual plants?

He is saying to wait because those plants will spring flower. The days are still too short. It throws their timing all off and they rarely recover in time (re veg) to get flowering cues from the summer solstice by June 20th. If you wait till June or late May all is well and they stay in veg. Then flower sensing the days getting shorter as the summer wanes on.

Seedlings do this less since they are not mature, but held over mature clones always start flowering right away if put out too soon.

Same as @kellydans for me

@noddykitty1 thats a perfect explanation of why you dont put sexually mature plants outside too early. Its the transition from vegg to flower and back to vegg then back to flower that screws it up.

You know I didn’t even think of the dark cycle because time changed happens and it’s not dark until 730. This is great information and I would have been highly upset with a revegging plants.

I ended up flipping her in my 3x3 instead of putting her outside. The stretch is done.
