This Liberty Haze has been vegging next to a completed 14 week auto, and is finally alone and I can try scrog!
I had to be very rough with her, to keep her in check, and she has taken to the HST very well.
Now to ”not get greedy”, and maximize efficiency for a hopefully great harvest in my 2x4. The net has 55 nice little spots for a bud site. Or will that be too crowded? Was also thinking 18, making one empty spot between all. What would you do?
Should I flip and fill it out using the stretch? Or veg a few weeks, final trim and flip?
I did more cut than tuck to be honest. Been so much cutting on her I dont even think, just snip snip. Now I kinda see the branches and where they need to go, and will start tucking!
I have something growing in all needed directions, and will continue 24/0 a while, as it just explodes with growth after a cut back.
Autopot is amazing, the plants drink sooo much more than I could ever top water.
One plant per screen. This makes removing a problem plant possible.
Cells on the screen should be rectangular (makes threading through the cells easier with less stress)
Fill screen to 90% filled cells before flipping.
If possible, use an adjustable height frame to adjust as needed.
Have a large enough root ball to support many tops.
Keep in mind that the more tops (colas) you have makes each one smaller. Total yields will be similar to a more upright plant based on my experience.
I much prefer to thread the screen when plant is still pliant.
If that were mine I’d fill all cells before flipping. Then continue to weave as the stretch progresses. (counting on the stretch is problematic because every plant stretches differently or very minimally)
I am still debating 18, 28 or 55 tops. Each probably has it pros and cons.
55 will get thick and bushy I guess.
28 probably a bit bigger and more room between tops. 18 feels like there will be tons of space and they will grow tall, large and maybe uneven, hard to manage etc?
In the coming days the center part will need to be curated and readied with selected small tops remaining, and the right side will complete a few days after that. The left side will dictate flip.
Hopefully all selected tops will be even in size, distance from root ball and ready for an amazing flowering!
