Autopot, soil and dank buds

Hello! I thought I’d create an diary of sorts, instead of spreading my grows elsewhere in the forum.
So far I have grown some autos in soil, autos in soil in autopots and my last grow was a long vegged Liberty Haze in a scrog setup.

My setup:

2x4 tent with a 350cfm exhaust
400w Lumii Black Blade
a couple 120mm fans for tent circulation
an oscill fan for canopy circulation
dehumifier, humidifier for environment

1,5x1,5 HydroShoot tent for clones and what not, and drying.
100w sensi LED, amazon junk.

I really enjoy the idea of soil and a living root zone, as opposed to coco. Maybe I’ll try coco some time, but my soil/leca 70/30 has proven to be awesome in the Autopot XL system.

Strawberry Gorilla

Liberty Haze

The Liberty Haze is drying, and looking good. This had been a request from a buddy with a bout of nostalgia. Had to fullfil that! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Next up, shake some life in this Liberty Haze clone to make her a mother, is the plan.

Are you leaving the Autopots system on all time with soil?

Yes! And root balls have been massive. The soil has been moist one finger down throughout the grow, not a single drop top watered after opening the res. After harvest, the root zones are completely soaked, but smells fresh, and I am loving my style.

I do run about 3-4x the minimum airpump specified, they say at least 15gal/h, the root zone below vegged at 20 gal/h, and flowered at 60gal/h. Will need to double that for next grow with 2 Autopot, as both will get 60gal/h. Can’t have too much air.

This root zone is 16 weeks veg, 7 weeks flower, so maybe not representative :slightly_smiling_face:

Impressive, I would have thought soil would stay too wet in them, good to know and great job you did!

I would say the soil is waterlogged for months on end. But I guess the intense bubbling from the air dome makes it a soil/hydro disco of joy

And I got a perfectly functioning Autopot valve, so I saw the tray empty, refill. 5-6 times during light, 2-3 times during dark. So interesting. Setup a sensor for water flow, will put up more sensors and hook em up to Home Assistant. Cant stay informed enough while at work. Hahaha!

I bet the air domes are keeping enough oxygen to the roots so they won’t drown, gotcha.

So, I wasnt going to grow anythingexcept tomatoes and chilies in the hot summer months, but I failed at that.

Germinated two Gorilla Cookies Auto, and luckily one didn’t grow well, and got culled. The one that survived though, it looks nothing like the one I grew previously. That one was short and looked like an auto with indica traits. This one, looks much more sativa, and it is finally done stretching. Sadly, I can no longer dial the DLI, as the tops inevitably will be baked being close to the lamp, which is maxed out. Will bend anything looking burnt/not healthy. Oh, and this is my first attempt at 70/30 coco/perlite, using Canna Coco A+B, stared with PK13/14 last week, and will dose with that throughout to harvest.

This is my regrown bushy Liberty Haze mother, after taking 25 clones for my buddy’s buddy. So exciting to have ”my” genetics making a mark in a wider circle!

Come fall/winter, I will run 4 clones per 2 autopots, straight to 12/12 and see what that produces.

A week or two until I harvest this beast of a Gorilla Cookies Auto.

The Liberty Haze photo has produced her clones, moved in to her autopot, and will pick more clones as I SCROG her next.

Trichomes still cloudy. I have trimmed most leaves on top colas to try to speed things up. She seemingly doesn’t care, and keeps on keeping on, thought defoliation stress would show in the water uptake.

Guess I will give more time, to see if trichomes turns amber.

Harvest Gorilla Cookies Auto! Had to debranch after 3 days drying whole in the big tent at 66F/58-63%. Staple gun, hangers and a tiny tent, and a so-so intelligent humidifier, and exhaust on minimum. Seems to hold at 65F/60% for now :crossed_fingers:t2:

My beloved phenotype of a Liberty Haze clone, turned mother to 40+ clones, will now get Scrogged into a winter stash bag of frosty, lime goodness! :christmas_tree::christmas_tree::christmas_tree:got clones rooting out to make bonsais in the tiny tent after another 7 days of drying.

Back to organic soil and leca, and will continue to top water only. The roots have had 2 weeks to find new soil, coming from a gallon pot to a 6-7 one. Will give her two more weeks top water only, added co2, crank up the DLI and let her fill out roots, and the screen, before seitching to 12/12 and turning on the autopot.

Im so excited about growing, and very stoned so I thought a double post was fitting.

Root ball time! My first grow in coco, and the root mat was dense! Which explains the water intervall of only 200ml per tray refill. There was no room for water for all the roots! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This auto that turned out to veg for 7 weeks, apparently lacking the ruderalis genes.

This is about 6 weeks into 12/12 and OG Kush Auto said to bloom for 10 weeks.

Also, this will be the last grow for a while. The ”HOA” needs to inspect ventilation this year. Cant deny them entry and cant be having this going. Was thinking hydroponic strawberries, but that would just single me out as the wierdo to gossip about. :joy:

Be seeing you all gromies! :winking_face_with_tongue:

Lettuce is a great veggie to grow.

I am currently looking to try to fill my tent with a hop vine or two, as a substitute.

But just having a indoor grow tent is a bit sus in my neck of the woods.

Hops would be fun but they typically grow WAY high. I did some Cascade outdoors for a couple of years and the plants were trellised at 12’ high.

8,5 - 9 weeks of bloom. Will try to give her another week to finish.

So much fluffy growth that coulda been trimmed. But I will trim all the fluff off at chop before drying it whole. Perfect for some fresh frozen bubble hash!

Oh man, the HOA checks inside your house? Or is it a townhouse/apartment/co-op…I’d tell them where to go if they wanted to set foot in my house.

Its a condo, and ventilation inspections every 5-10 years is a ”normal” thing, over here.
