Hello! I thought I’d create an diary of sorts, instead of spreading my grows elsewhere in the forum.
So far I have grown some autos in soil, autos in soil in autopots and my last grow was a long vegged Liberty Haze in a scrog setup.
My setup:
2x4 tent with a 350cfm exhaust
400w Lumii Black Blade
a couple 120mm fans for tent circulation
an oscill fan for canopy circulation
dehumifier, humidifier for environment
1,5x1,5 HydroShoot tent for clones and what not, and drying.
100w sensi LED, amazon junk.
I really enjoy the idea of soil and a living root zone, as opposed to coco. Maybe I’ll try coco some time, but my soil/leca 70/30 has proven to be awesome in the Autopot XL system.
Strawberry Gorilla
Liberty Haze
The Liberty Haze is drying, and looking good. This had been a request from a buddy with a bout of nostalgia. Had to fullfil that!
Next up, shake some life in this Liberty Haze clone to make her a mother, is the plan.

Are you leaving the Autopots system on all time with soil?

Yes! And root balls have been massive. The soil has been moist one finger down throughout the grow, not a single drop top watered after opening the res. After harvest, the root zones are completely soaked, but smells fresh, and I am loving my style.
I do run about 3-4x the minimum airpump specified, they say at least 15gal/h, the root zone below vegged at 20 gal/h, and flowered at 60gal/h. Will need to double that for next grow with 2 Autopot, as both will get 60gal/h. Can’t have too much air.
This root zone is 16 weeks veg, 7 weeks flower, so maybe not representative

Impressive, I would have thought soil would stay too wet in them, good to know and great job you did!

I would say the soil is waterlogged for months on end. But I guess the intense bubbling from the air dome makes it a soil/hydro disco of joy
And I got a perfectly functioning Autopot valve, so I saw the tray empty, refill. 5-6 times during light, 2-3 times during dark. So interesting. Setup a sensor for water flow, will put up more sensors and hook em up to Home Assistant. Cant stay informed enough while at work. Hahaha!

I bet the air domes are keeping enough oxygen to the roots so they won’t drown, gotcha.
