This is the first time I’ve ever grown and a friend was telling me about autoflower plants.
He gave me a Haze autoflower seed. Not sure what seed bank it came from. I’m growing it in the Small Complete Pot Grow Kit from pot for pot (2 gallon) size. I planted the seed on the 9th of September and it popped up out of the soil on the 12th of September.
Ive been putting the plant outside when the Sun is up and then under a light when it starts to get dark. Total time exposed to light is about 18 hours.
I’m using an hlg 100 grow light and placing the plant about 14 inches from the LEDs. I put the seed pod in the pot today and watered it well. Is it okay to move it outside during the daylight hours so it gets natural sun and then put it under the growth light at night? Also do you think 14 inches away from the grow light sounds about right? It seems to be doing pretty good. Thanks in advance for any advice. Here is a current picture from today after I put her in her new home.
Welcome. That looks nice!
Thanks
I run two 100s in my 2x4 space and love the finished product. I keep plants fairly small but get good yields. Welcome to the forum
Raise them a little. 18-24 is the general guideline usually. It’s a great light though. 3000k or 4000k?
I have the 65 v2 4000k and it’s great. I’m getting the qb135 v2 rspec next. Gonna be great.
Oh, and welcome to the forums.
Thanks. Its a 3000. Since I plan on just autoflowers for now I was told to get that one. Thanks for the information, have a good one.
The 3000k is better for flowering as well.
The 4000k is a better veg. But both will do the job pretty decent for both. Lol.
Oh, and no problem. You’re welcome. Keep asking when you need help. A lot of people are real knowledgeable here.
I really appreciate it. I don’t have a clue of what I’m doing right now but I’m reading tons. Since I’m growing organic I’m trying to find what type of food or whatever it may need right now. I’ve got to get a pH tester also.
By the way, since I just put the seedling in its new home today do I need to soak the soil until water comes out the bottom of the pot? I don’t want to over water it.
Go for the apera ph20 at least worth the 50.
No. Lol. Just a little in a ring around it. The roots will reach for the water and grow stronger.
Good that’s what I did. It just seemed like it would be overwhelming it to soak the whole bucket, so I didn’t. I just put enough in to get past the roots a little I guess. Thanks for your help man.
No problem. Any time you need help, ask we’re all here.
@420allday- Welcome to our group!!
Your plant looks good. I was wondering why you put the pot in the sun and then bring it inside and put it under the light. Your plant really only needs about 18 hours a day of light. 14" is a little close, you might want to raise it up to around 18" or so. The light is rated to veg a 3’x3’ or flower a 2’x2’. If you have any questions about light tag drbrn23 by typing @ and a name. So to tag you would be just like how I started this reply. What size room inside is your plant in. When bringing plants in and outside you have to watch for temperature and humidity swings. Not many on our group put their plants inside and out. She is doing good so far, keep it going!
I’m in my first grow with the 100s and I’m not sure where I had my lights when they were small, now I keep them 12 to 15 inches now in flower. I use a organic bio trio from flower power fertilizer from Netherlands or someplace but it works good for me, only thing takes a while in shipping, I order way ahead lol… your girl looks good man. I hope others will help with other organic options. Keep up the good work, here’s a pic of my 9 week old auto I’m super happy with what these lights do for me.
happy growing my friend
Thanks man. I raised the light last night to around 18 or 19 in after someone else responded. I’ve been putting it outside just to get natural sunlight during the day when it’s really bright. The temperature inside my house and outside are about the same so there’s not really much difference in temperature. I’ve been putting it outside around 8 in the morning until about 5 in the evening but Total light from outside and inside have been 18 hours. 6 hours without light. Right now it’s just set up in my bathroom. I’m on disability so income is limited. If you think I really ought to get a small grow tent I will get one first of the month when I get my check from the VA. Thanks again for the input!
By the way, I sprayed the leaves yesterday with a solution of neem oil and soap and also sprayed them with a solution of Epsom salt. Looking better to me already… What do you think?
Mr. All Day-
Try not to make “the mistake” that 50,000 others have made- dont spray with needs oil and then put them under lights or in the sun. You will fry your girls. Spraying them at lights out will keep you from having to discover this most disturbing outcome. You probably already know anyway. Your plant looks good man!
