Happy Frog runoff test

Should I cut off all the really bad and spotted green/yellow leaves or leave them?

With her last meal going in at around 450EC and the runoff definitely on it’s way down, I’d say maybe add a bit of Calimagic to between 125 to 175EC, then bring it up to between 450 to 500EC with base nutrients for her next meal.
As far as the leaves, I usually don’t pull many of them until I’ve either got the problem corrected, or they get severely dry or wilted. My theory on this is that one of the reasons the leaves start to look bad is because the plant is pulling whatever it can out of them to make up for whatever deficiency they might have. So I feel like if I remove the slightly damaged leaves before the issue is fixed, she’ll just start pulling from other healthy leaves, so I just let them keep taking anything left in the already damaged ones. Once you see no more progression of the problem, then it’s good to remove the ones that are bad looking.

And something else I don’t think I’ve mentioned to you, I always make sure the temperature of my water for feedings is between 65 and 70°F, preferably on the lower end of that range. Cooler water carries more oxygen to the root zone, and above 70° the oxygen levels fall off a lot.
I keep my R/O water and the water I collect from my dehumidifiers in 5 gallon jugs. The room temperature in my trailer sometimes goes up to 75° or higher in the summer. So about 6 to 8 hours before I’m ready to mix a feeding, I pour one gallon out of a 5 gallon jug and into a pitcher, then put it in the refrigerator. Then I pour that cold water back into the jug, and it brings the temp of the entire 5 gallons down to about 65° or so.
It definitely helps maintain a happy and healthy root zone!

My Waters around 72 to 75 at feeding. I’ll drop it. Just got back from the dentist. Serious pain. I’ll reply back later! Thanks so much!

Hope you feel better soon!

@Cap_Ron
I had a couple extractions today. The pain is unbearable.

As far as big girl goes I don’t have a problem pushing her. If you think it’s beneficial I have no problem doing it. Is there like a maximum that you shoot for that’s beneficial up to a point where it begins to be dangerous? In short what’s the maximum you could ever feed her?

As for the Do-Si-Dos, I’ll make her feed along with the calmag. I can even run a ltr of distilled water through her first to push out more of the soil charge. As mentioned before she doesn’t need a lot so she could stay wet up to two or three days after her feed. She will absolutely have tons of water in her tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. should I go ahead and over-water tomorrow morning just so she can get the Cal mag in her?

I don’t think I can get my temperature of the water that I feed with anywhere near 65 I think I can keep it in the low 70s. tell you the truth, that’ll be the best that I can do. I’m struggling right now keeping the room down low.

I don’t know what I’m going to do when it comes time to dry. That’ll be a whole nother conversation. I’ve been monitoring different places throughout the house to figure where I can drive as I have the average temp everywhere at 77° and I know that’s not sufficient to dry.

Nevertheless, thank you so much for all the help. I know I tend to have a lot to ask. :v:

The highest EC I’ve ever fed an auto in soil was around 1300, but it was an enormous plant and I worked up to that level a little bit at a time. More importantly, I wouldn’t go very much higher with your big girl because in another few weeks it will be time to start backing off a bit. No worries if you want to go up a little though. With your current runoff numbers you can raise the EC by like 60 or 75 without worrying.

For the Dosido, I don’t think it’s necessary to run distilled water through before you feed her. Better to just give her a low strength Cal/Mag and base nutrient feeding.

I’ll give you whatever drying tips I can think of when you’re feeling better. I’ve had pretty bad dental issues, and I know how horrible it can be!

I’m getting a lot of work done I’ve been doing two appointments a week for the last 2 weeks today was my fifth I probably have about two more all the hard stuff’s over with. I’m getting some new pearly whites.

10-4 on the no flush for lil girl and I’ll keep it safe with the big girl and keep her somewhere around 750 to 760 I’ll back off of the new root nutrient I used last week on her.

Thank you! :beers:

If you recall there was a couple of other plants in the tent that turned the lime green. However their leaves are not drooping some of them have like the marbling effect with lighter to darker greens. Nothing yellow or burnt. Just extremely lighter than normal. Should I give them a small shot of Cal magic?

Yeah, sounds like a good idea to me. With pure water it’s always a good idea to add Cal/Mag every so often, especially if they’re appearing hungry like that.

@Cap_Ron
Should I go with 150 EC Hope just cow mag then add my base to bring it up to its regular feed

Anywhere between 150 and 200EC for the cal/mag is fine.

@Cap_Ron
You’ll never believe who this is… Yesterday Miss Baby Do-Si-Dos look like she was on her deathbed. Look who decided to join the party of good health and happy plants

I just can’t believe it’s the same girl. She was still soaking wet this morning however looking as bad as she did last night with all the burnt leaves etc I decided to overwater her with a huge runoff with your Cal mag recipe with base nutrient

IN
EC 475
PPM 237
pH 5.72

OUT
EC 995
PPM 497
pH 6.31

Fat girls run off this :sunrise_over_mountains: morning was 942EC what is 751 EC intake. She’s very repetitive lately. Just as consistent as can be. I chose not to give her the calmag shoot. She’s never had one but she’s never asked for one neither.

Looks great! The big girl should be fine without cal/mag because she’s getting a decent amount of calcium and magnesium from the base nutrients. Any of the smaller girls that are getting lower doses of the base nutrients might appreciate a bit of cal/mag.

Yeah, it’s amazing how fast they can come around and look happy again after an issue. They’re tougher than we think sometimes.

everybody in the tent if they’re green wasn’t cucumber green they got 150 EC shot. Thanks!

They’re starting to bloom now :seedling:

@Cap_Ron
Good morning Ron,
Big girl is truly consistent. 920EC runoff’s. Bud production slow but steady. She’s getting very top heavy. Working on securing her branches better today so she doesn’t “snap”… she’s 61 days old today.

She’s relatively groomed perfectly in my opinion. She’s not over crowded with leaves despite everything in the tent I do believe everything is getting sufficient light on her.

Is there anything you can think of that I can do to her or give to her during this period? I’m majorly impressed of her overall consistency and beautiful color and health.

Do-Si-Dos baby still perky and happy and looks to have responded very well in her recovery.

You can definitely just keep on doing exactly what you’re doing, she’s clearly happy with your care. I’m not sure I’d try to give her anything else, I think you have everything covered very well. The only thing I can think of is, if you raise the EC for the big girls input by about 50 to 75 points, you can use Big Bud for the entire increase. In other words, no need to raise the dose of the base nutrients anymore at this point in the grow. Any small increases from now until you start to back off can be with Big Bud.

Sounds like a plan. Thank you
