Going the distance with FF Happy Frog

Hi ya’ll, new to the game, and thought it was time to post my first question. I started my indoor grow at the beginning of August. August 1st to be exact. I have a small tent, ion-board LED lights, fan, auto timer, 5 gallon cloth planters, and just performed my first re-potting. My plants are doing very well. I have them on a 18/6 light cycle with FF happy frog soil medium. Currently using regular tap water with a moisture meter and finger for testing the soil hydration. I am planning to go all organic on this grow and do not want to add any nutes if possible. Here-in lies my question, how many of you farmers out there have been able to go the distance, from seedling to flowering, using FF Happy Frog soil without adding any nutrients? I have attached two photo’s but they are a week old.

Welcome , happy frog can possibly get you through veg stage but once you reach flowering stage you will need to add P K In some form to finish up strong. You’re off to a great start. Good luck

You might have gone the distance with some OF but HF has fewer nutes. @kellydans is right, you will NEED flowering food. If you dont have one or both you will need a ph pen and tds meter also.

Spendy that. Photone app might be helpful. Not as acurate as a 400.00 dollar sensor but unless you have a serious light setup with co2 and all that how acurate do you need to be? It is important to keep track of ph and tds going in and runoff coming out. This info will be crucial should your plant run into issue. Tds of runoff tells you when to feed also.
I only use tap for soil flushing but if its working stick with.

I use happy frog mixed with perlite and fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3 per the instructions on the package. Then top dress with the fruit and flower after about 6 weeks. Then once a month after that if necessary, and that’s it other than ph’ing your water. I also mix some worm castings in when I’m filling my pots. I also use a little bio thrive bloom during flowering. All organic.

Check out Earth Dust. 2 part Organic amendments. Amend your soil with Base and cook for 2-4 weeks. Plant your seed. Top dress with Boost 1-2 weeks before flip, then again 30 days later. No ph’ing. FF soils aren’t totally organic and ph’ing your water to the proper range is crucial.

I am 31 days into my first grow. She is flowering now. Used HF and have gone organic up to this point. I’m going to introduce Jacks 3-2-1 and use that every other watering or so from here on out.

:point_up_2: be careful with foliage misting with lights on, can burn those leaves. Otherwise looking good Growmie and agree with the others :love_you_gesture:

@Wadekep How in the world did you get that much growth in just 31 days?? I am just 16 days in and my plant looks, well just check my pic’s. And you claim your only using HF soil with no additives. I mean it takes a week to germinate, couple more weeks to get to veg stage, then at least 4 weeks in veg before you even think about flowering. 31 days? I don’t think so.

Haha it is 31 days since it broke ground on 7/15. I’ve kept a pretty detailed journal on here. I don’t know if you can look it up. “Help, sour diesel auto - day 12”. I started LST around day 14 and been keeping up with training. 100% water between Ph of 6.62 & 7. Lights on 18/6. Introducing Jacks in a couple days. I’ll take this as a compliment on my first grow :joy:

This was her at 16 days above ground. And it looks like I started LST on day 16, not 14.

Absolutely a compliment, great job brother/sister. LST on day 16? What type of training did you do? I am thinking about topping mine this week.

I have been spritzing them from the beginning. I find this helps with the humidity levels as-well-as water uptake through their stomata. I have read quite a few forums with people warning of the water magnifying the light and burning the leaves. However, maybe due to my fan speed, or distance of my light, I have not encountered this effect.

Thanks @JayDawg. Check out the link below to my thread, i post every time I water or do anything to her, tons of good info for beginners and HF soil.

More related to light intensity and not really helping with RH in the grand scheme but to each its own and do what works :love_you_gesture:

Welcome to the community. All of your fertilize products has an NPK value. You can read it on the front of bag or bottle.
N (nitrogen) used More in veg stage.
P an K Larger value used in flowering stage. Happy growing

A question about FF liquid nutrients. It gives the dilution per gallon. If you are planted in giant pots or in the ground, do you add nutes to all the water or just a gal per plant of nute water then plain water for whatever you need to water the plant.
