How I germinate use black plastic container cover the top with duck tape put a few holes in top for air flow. place two non bleached paper towels place seed between add enough distilled or filtered water with a dash of peroxide to dampen paper towel. Place in dark place
Check it in 48 hours
Its old school but has always worked for me.

I did the water in a cup method but some got tails and some don’t

Soaking to long can drown the seed

My method.

Small shot glass.
3 parts H20
1 part h202 (hydrogen peroxide)

Soak for 24 hours.

Plant in soil whether there is a tap root or not.

Also what has helped me after planting in soil (clear solo cups) is to set them on a germination mat. I leave them on the mat until i transplant into their final home

Should I plant the seed facing up or down ?

Facing up… that way she will upright herself underground and when she pops soil it will help shed the seed hull to prevent helment head.

I’ve been doing the same. I like to see the seed sink. Then plant straight into soil.

I direct seed mine in water saturated fiber pots. Plant seed 3/8", or so. Dont compact, keep the soil over the seed damp. Just a couple table spoons of water if it starts to dry. Needs to be warm, at least 70 F.

Just germinated these. Took two to three days.

Get some fox farm happy frog soil, and solo cups. Moisten the soil, and fill the solo cup. Plant the seed directly into the soil (not very deep), spray a little water on it to settle the seed, and stick a baggie over the top to make a little greenhouse. Keep it warm, and it should break ground in about 3 or 4 days. Stick it under your light on low power, and don’t water until dry. Works about 100% of the time for me.

After I doo all that and they begging to sprout when should I turn light off ?

Run your light 18/6 all through veg.

I like to follow Hellraiser’s technique. It’s been successful in my experience. Please read about it here.

I added one modification I learned from @Lostgirl: I placed a clear Solo cup (with the bottom cut off) inside the colored/opaque cup. This allows you to see the root structure as it develops.

So I germinated them and only 2 came out what should I do next ? When should I turn the light off ?
