Hello everyone. Which method for curing is better? Grove bags seem cheaper and hassle free to use - no humidity pack needed…? My auto still has about 3 weeks of flower cycle but I like to be organised! Any advice would be appreciated.
After I use the Wedryer I have buckets that I made for auto burping. Once I feel it’s good enough I do love large grove bags and I also use boveda packs too. So grove bags are awesome
I like the bags over jars but I don’t heat seal mine and I’ve had a couple bags zipper malfunction and it’s hard to see when it happens until your thinking why is my buds drying out. I prefer mason jars but 4 lbs can fill a lot of jars. I guess I need to get king size jars
Thank you… how do you heat seal them?
I’ll get a couple and try them out, thanks!
Gallon glass jar w/ snap lid (easy burping).
Dried and Cure Stored for months, in unsealed Grove bags.
TBT
Bags were reading above 45% RH
5 ozs net weight.
Kief collection too.
I have a set of RH sensors, all read 5% too low.
Others measure better.
Orange peel utilized to bring up RH.
Remote sensor plus two display sensors.
Warning, I have dropped and broken quart jars, in the past.
Bags will not break when dropped.
I like the idea of the grow bags, not for long-term storage. I did Grove bags. The last two grows, and my flowers were crispy dry within two months.
I’m running jars this time And probably won’t go to grove bags.
Maybe the Grove bags just breathe too much. I don’t know. This is just my two cents buddy
I’ve used both quite a bit, but prefer cvaults over grove bags. They work well, they stack and store nicely, they preserve smell and taste well…not the cheapest option tho.
Thanks,
I Didnt know what Cvaults were.
Looked them up.
Interesting.
Metal containers could be better than glass.
I dropped one and killed two, last year (the drop hit another, both shattered).
I want to shy away from anything metal except 316 ss. Just my preference after spending 30 years in the pharma industry and participating in extractable protocols and packaging solutions for our products. Hands down glass is the cleanest and safest. That being said, the process used for curing cannabis is well outside of any concerns for any of the curing products, glass, metal or plastics.
Grove bags worked well for me, I do heat seal them. (Harvest Right sealer) And mainly because of “easy”, that’s what I plan to do currently.
If you heat seal a bag, you can still use it multiple times. I’m able to seal twice pre zipper and two or three times after zipper, depending on the amount left in the bag.
I believe you need a appliance to seal them like they use for food items.
A 1/2 Gal Mason jar holds a QP give or take an oz. I haven’t had good luck with the seals on snap top jars, but I’ve only had a couple hand me downs so that may be why.
Yes, originally I collected “Thrift” store snap jars, only to determine the were past shelf life. New costs more, but holds for the year, well.
amazing delivered the box of two new gallon glass jars, without breaking them.
Shure surprised me.
thanks for the tip, I’ll have to try some next harvest. Even with the 1/2 Gal jars its a lot of jars.
That looks beautiful!
I’ll probably get Kilner jars - they work so well for my spices etc. And I’ll add a Bovida humidity pack and store in a dark place.
There is that drawback - the clean up is a pain and what about the product? Did you salvage anything?
Very pricy in the UK. But I’m still going to get two…see how it goes
