I would like to get opinions on buying an older light.
The light is an HLG550 eco with a meanwell 480 driver. 3k on the light color.
I need this for flower. Will it work?
I have the opportunity to purchase four of them.
Please advice needed.

Yes, that is a good light, any HLG is good. If they are reasonably priced, I’d buy all 4, as long as they don’t have a ton of hours on them.
I am.told they are a year old, not much to go on there.
They are $150 a peice, is this a fair price?

Yes, that’s toward the red end, that’s what you want for flower, 2700-3000.
And 150 for HLG sounds like a deal! I’d buy them all.

How much light can i pack in a grow space before it is to much?

Go for it, good product.
Figure on 50 watts per square foot of plant space . A 4x4 tent will take up to 800 watts.

I have been dragging my girls around in the sun for a couple months. My buds are small because of not enough light. I live in the woods so it’s lots of shade. You can see my grow here.
My poor ass has been a saving for months expecting to spend (lots) on a good light. For me I was expecting to spend around a grand on a good light.
Now, I am here right upon winter with 15 girls outside and half of them are in flower due to the time of year. I felt kinda like winter might force me to pull the girls in and no light at that point.

When I ran across 4 of these hlgs 550 v2 and now I see they are for a 4x5 flower coverage, shit that is enough for a 10x12 tent. I have gotten very excited. And I got them 150$ a piece.
I was so excited I couldn’t get anything done all day.

All I can imagine now is huge buds. Lol
I’m in the mountains of western north carolina , So growing season outside is over here. But i’m primarily inside guy anyway. I do like to stick a couple plants outside

I love the mountains, i have seen those over that way, they are beautiful.
After a few years of planning a move, recently i have .oved to a new property. Never inhabited before. No light in here, it is all woods.
I was gonna cut me a space for light and plant a garden as well as the girls. But, after i got here i feel in love with the trees, all huge oak with a few pine. I just can not bring myself to cut trees. This brought me to the deciding indoors, in which i just ordered some used lights, i hope they are okay
You got a pretty good deal. Two of these at 40% power would be more than enough for your grow space.

I have been saving for a light for months, a good one cost a bunch.
It was price that got me on this one.
After i have made the purchase i am learning more about the lights. I have gotten excited. I can expand my grow space. This gives me options i have not had in the past.
My past experience has lead me to believe, light is the most important piece of the process, its a place that should not be second rate if at all possible. Wanna skimp, get a cheap tent, bucket to grow in, anything, just don’t skimp in the lights.
I feel these lights will stand up and do the job.

In the past i have followed advice from ILGM and never regret it.
This ti.e around i was advised to purchase all that i could. Advised me.thst it was a good deal. At least it is how i took.it. i wanna give a big shout out to grow @Growdoc for suggesting to buy them all. Damn u iu were right.
I really had no idea what i was purchasing.
I did purchase all 4 in wbich they had.
Took mmm two weeks to get mmm to me.
Honestly i thought i purchased a scam because it was so cheap and took so long to get here. With no communication.
All in all, when tbey got here they are worth way more than i ever expected i could purchase. I surely didn’t have the knowledge to be confident enough to buy them all. Or even one for that matter.
