I’ve considered doing that several times, but either I found it wasn’t needed or it wasn’t worth my time. But, I know that I’ll consider it again, but very likely only on nighttime strains.
I’m one of the exceptions! My systems are sensitive (to many things), not only to THC, but it seems to weed in general, so I can tell the differences.
I experimented with some White Widows, and the extra 10%-15% amber I let develop made big enough differences to me. I let my Afghan get a fair amount of amber, and so I only use that before bed.
I didn’t let amber trichs develop on my GDP, and I can have some of that even during the day, it’s clear-headed and relaxing; in low-to-moderate amounts there isn’t a drive to hit the couch, but it’s also great at night to help me sleep.
Being an Indica/nighttime strain, that GDP plant would have been a good candidate to let some trichs go amber, so that’s my likely plan the next time I grow GDP or another nighttime strain.
Yeah, could be, yet so far with my experiences, I’ve been careful with the daytime strains I’ve been experimenting with the last few months … my body is quick to glob onto any relaxation effects, which can easily become too much for me during the day. That’s what’s great especially about the Durban Poison I grew, since it has very light body effects, and has functional, controllable mind and mood effects.
On the other hand, the Sour Diesel I grew had heavy body effects, despite a buzzed forehead and some vice-grip feelings in my head. So, I doubt that I’ll consume any more of that weed.
And all of that is one reason that I’m trying these different strains in the small 1-gallon bags – no reason to grow more than I’ll need, and in some cases, perhaps rarely use, if ever, like with the Sour Diesel. It’s all good to me, I love mj and growing it, even one or two small plants, they are awesome and they bring me joy.
Oh my goodness, this became a long post. Ha!
