Topping issues.. advise needed

First time grower. Just topped plant for the first time after the 4th node. Prior to topping there were two small side shoots starting. After topping, it appears only one new growth remains, as opposed to the expected two. It’s possible I made a bad cut and somehow cut one of the 2 side shoots. Question is: Do I just leave and let the plant do it’s thing or should I just top the plant below the 4th node from where i originally topped? First pic is after topping. 2nd pic is the following day. Thanks in advance.

Looks like it may have been severed in the process. It’ll recover fine it looks young still worst case scenario you keep it in veg a little longer to bulk up. I’m sure you could top on the next lower node, they look nice and short. They’re extremely resilient plants.

Thanks @Freebirdmikes appreciate the prompt response. I’m also confident the plant will recover. Just curious if this topping error defeated the purpose of topping and or just topping below this node will end with a better result.

Ive seen so many methods for topping plants, it should still split. If not you still have options as long as you are not short on vegetative grow time.

No, not at all. Only 26 days in. Thanks again

Always, unless you smoke and talk to her, then do what she wants.
