Three finger fan leaves and seeds?

Hi everyone, this is one strange 6 week old Purple Punch auto plant growing outdoors. All my fan leaves have only 3 fingers, some of the new leaves are curling in circles, and these almost look like seeds to me? Which pronoun plant is this?

Female.

Your plant will benefit from more direct sun.

Autos can be quirky. Suggest growing photos if you want more consistent results.

Welcome to the community.Nothing surprises me with an auto plant. Definitely a weird plant. (Genetics)

Autos are very difficult to grow, and produce any decent buds. All my autos only make 3 finger leaves, and buds are always fluffy. I just finished the last one I’ll ever do. To much time and effort for inconsistent results.

I get very frustrated that new growers are steered toward autos, and all seed sellers do it. That are marketed as easier to grow and nothing could be further from the truth.

I apologize, I should have introduced myself. I’m Danny from the Chicago SW suburbs. I grew 5 last year for the first time. They grew really nice right up until harvest time when I somehow managed to kill them, but I still got a few ounces for personal. I am using seeds from last year, and besides this one plant that may be male, I also have a runt, as you can see, and a feeble attempt to LST one of them this year. 3 of them I topped just out of curiosity. I’m still learning and experimenting.

Close up pics of what you believe is male?

They’re dark and they look like seeds to me, but I could be and usually am wrong.

Males don’t have pistils. That is most certainly a female. What you suspect are seeds are really swollen female calyxes.

Following along here. Nice grow ya got going here. I’ve grown a few autos since returning to growing. I’d definitely side with @MidwestGuy on the view of autos Not being so easy for a beginner. With such a short veg time ya gotta be on your game with those. Little time for error.

Yup, autoflowers often throw 3 pointers, and you got some swolen calyxes, more than likely no seeds.

Well, my wife won’t let me grow in the house, and I don’t want to grow plants taller than my 6’ fence, so I’m kind of stuck with auto. Can you keep a photoperiod plant under 6’ with LST?

Topping and supercropping can be utilized to manage height.

Your never stuck really. There’s always ways to control height. I might add a screen or netting works as well.

I grow photos in a tent with topping supercropping and a scrog…and keep them under 3 feet…usually 2 1/2 feet. Just have to show them who is boss

Same here except I let mine get to about 4 1/2 feet. It is very easy to do. In my case, the 4 1/2 feet includes the rolling base and the 10 gallon fabric pot. That means that the actual plants are about 3 feet.

Good clarification. I try to keep the around 30 - 36" from the dirt…gotta add in the pot and riser.

All the pictures of SCROG I see appear to be in indoor grow tents, is it practical for an outdoor grow?

There are some folks on here that do mean SCROGs outside…I have never tried it, but is my plan next year. I can’t remember names…Hopefully they will chime in with some pics
