I hear a lot of the question what’s the difference between a photo and an auto flower, these two girls were playing the same day that’s the difference, big mama didn’t flower yet but the auto flower already popped.

Im new to all of this. Im growing this summer. Its my first grow with seeds i saved up along the way. Next year though im looking into buying better quality seeds. I grow outdoors in pots.
Whats the difference between photo and auto flower seeds and what would best suit my style of growing?

Photo plants are triggered to flower by the amount of light they recieve in hours. Auto flowering plants are going to flower regardless of the amount of light. So if your growing indoor you dont have to agjust your lights. If outside mother nature does it for you. Bottom line, autos outdoor take about 4 to 5 months photos take 6. But, autos are smaller plants and picky for an outdoor enviro.
To me, if you have good outdoor weather til oct. Grow a photo. If your growing indoor or short season outdoor you may consider an auto, but not me. I like photo plants. You cant really top and train an auto. They go into shock and dont grow. I grew 3 autos outdoor last year. Not a single one put out good smoke. It was an experiment, but still. 2 grew fine, nut the smoke was just not good. Now i have an auto indoor and its a total different plant. Growing nice, smoke is gonna be fire. For your first grow i highly recommend a photo plant. You can mess up and it will still grow and recover. Autos will not!!!:v: happy growing

I would not, just do some lst. Pull the top down just past 45 degrees. Be gentle if she is stiff, you can do it gradually over a couple days. You should see a boost in growth. Most mj plants like to be trained/stressed a little bit. :v:

For feed i use jacks. Jacks petunia or jacks high performance will woork till flowering and jacks bloom booster for flowering. The stuff is bullet proof almost. I start at half strength always, until they get feed a couple times then go up and up. They will get big with more light too.

Bottom pick was jacks start to finish.
The plant bottom pick in the middle was 6ft tall and i pulled her down to the ground almost. She grew straight back upward with every branch. Yield was 2.5 lb in a 10 gallon fabric pot. Some of those are in 5 gallon buckets. 6ft in 5 gallon bucket
Oh ya, ilgm seeds. Blue dream, white widow and mowie wowie.
Top pick is afghan

Could you describe a little better by what you mean by pulling the top down? I kniw what your saying about training. I just do understand why youd pull the top down or how. I need a pucture to understand, sorry.

Those plants look great!

I have this… will this do the same thing? It should help if anything, right?

@W.B.elpaso
Im a little confused though, sat to exactly why i shouldn’t top them? Ill just end up with 1 flower then ??

Yes, Thank you… i need to keep my plants short and bushy. I would wrather have many short stalky buds than one or two long skiny ones. When do i start pinching the tops, is the question i have?

Photo plants I like to top at about 8 nodes.
Autos you will need to top Before they start flowering 5 maybe 6 nodes. Taken into consideration Autos usually start flowering at 4 to 7 weeks.
Good luck :v:

You have a smart phone google it. There are a ton of places that will explain it better. Bend the top of the plant down toward the ground use a string and pull it or hold it down. You will have multipule tops.

If you are that new to growing you should just let it grow and watch. Your not ready for all this. If you dont want to read up on how, then just watch and learn. Growing has a huge learning curve. Do some reading l the info is right here. Thats my advise to you. Rookie
