I was googling how they make feminized seeds because I couldn’t wrap my head around knowing ahead if time if a seed was going to be female or not, and I found this.
I don’t plan to ever do this, bit is this possible??
Absolutely.
crazy, we need someone to test it but not me, ill be the watcher lmao
Look around the forum, they’re are handfuls of people doing exactly this.
I’ll definitely be only watching too
Just growing a regular plant is enough challenge for me
It is the method growers use to make feminized seeds. Sodium thiosulfate also works.
And a flux capacitor
Now that’s funny
@MidwestGuy i had to google Sodium thiosulfate and thats way above my pay grade, so im stil the watcher lmao. But i do vote for @VirginiaGrowBoy to try it lol
I’ve used CS with good results, gotta spray for a few days before it reduces the ethylene hormones. I’ve got a couple G13 peach puree and some retired Ethos Early Lemon Berry, I am going to use STS(new process to me but I bought the chems) on a clone of each to gen some S1’s.
Wow, impressive!
Does 1, 2 dimethyltetraaquadichlorocobalt also work? ![]()
sounds like the stuff that was in pre-workout that was so awesome, to bad it got banned lmao
How many syllables in that? lol

i think you forgot an X
@Graysin & @Hellraiser have made/are making female seeds using colloidal
It’s sort of a pseudo fact word. Had to test for it in some industrial wastewater years ago. Tried to memorize the word in all its ultra craziness.
Some people deal with that terminology daily.![]()
Negative - I started in down the colloidal silver path but burned about 8 ounces of it with no effect. Switched over to silver thiosulfate and had male flowers within 3 weeks of application. Perhaps CS takes more frequent and persistent use to get the results, STS took less time and attention. Bang for buck wise, sts is the way to do it.
Here’s the premise- any female plant that has a “reversal” done on it via STS or CS will produce male flowers but entirely female genetics.
Her pollen will transmit only the XX chromosome combination. Her recipient plant, also being female, will only contain the XX chromosome combo. Consequently any resulting cross from XX x XX will be XX.
All seeds from a female pollen donor and female seed producer will be female*
The * is because all cannabis plants carry the ability to produce male flowers & pollen (as evidenced by being able to do a reversal in the first place). Consequently, somewhere down the line or in a batch of seeds produced from the female x female breeding, the male traits may reappear - that most often manifests as nanners or hermaphroditism. I have had entirely male plants from feminized seeds before, but I think that was a one-in-a-million fluke.
Here are a few of my own fem seeds.
That is absolutely fascinating to me!
You explained it very well and easy to understand. Thank you!
