Ive had a bit of a read some time ago about ways of creating seeds to become female seeds.
Im at present pretty new to all this growing.
Im growing photo fem seeds organically outside.
What i did read seemed interesting but ive forgotten what i read and where i read it.
So here i am at this amazing forum of knowledge.
Can anyone enlighten me?

One popular method is Silver Theo Sulphide, or STS
As far as i know you stress a female to hermie and then you use that to pollinate another female, and boom you have feminized seeds… if I’m wrong someone please correct me.
Actually the STS is carefully applied to one branch of a flowering plant. Properly done it produces male flowers with no Y chromosome in the pollen. This is then used to pollinate a flowering female and the seeds are collected. This makes them feminized which is different from female. Generally feminized are less hardy than a female plant.
Naturally would be a plant that hermaphrodite from outside stress produced seeds. These will be feminized as well but greatly increases chance all seeds will trend towards hermaphrodite. Obviously not a good thing.
I have experienced this with seeds produced from a “stressed” hermie.

One technique I’d read of somewhere was heat stress causing male parts and the resulting seeds were nominal feminized seeds. I don’t know how true that is but did have a Sour Diesel do just that in 115F temps one fall. The other 5 plants with it didn’t show issues or seeds but this one just went immediately from frosty to dull and I knew what happened.

I just harvested a hermie last week. Pretty disappointing. Weak trichs and almost no trichs on the sugar leaves.

I always wonder what other oils and cannabinoids are present. Might be some beneficial ones. But yeah; the plant just turned OFF and sent it all to seeds.

I’ll try to find out in a few weeks after I’ve got it dried, cured, and pressed into hash. Yummy!

I kept some of those seeds and ran out 6 of them between me and other folks: all feminized, all beautiful full term Sour Diesels.
