Ok yeah, that is kinda what I have been seeing, around here, I will have to read about that stuff tonight , thank you for the help I feed her although the ph coming out was 7.2 and 6.2 going in. I will post a pic in a few days and we can see how she did. Ready to just pitch her and start a new seed….
If your ppms are low in your medium (low run off ppms) it can drive alkalinity up.
Now that to me makes total sense in what happened to this one.
I would probably start with lucas formula and a little calmag if I was using gh and looking to be 800ish ppm. I think it’s about 750ppm (500 scale) using standard recipe.
For whatever it’s worth, I use the same stuff as Low due to cost, ease of use, and effectiveness.
Can the Lucas formula be used in media? Also what the Jake’s 3 part there is so many to choose from…..?
Yes, it’s not limited to hydroponic systems.
What is your take on these sick plants? What do you think is causing the issues with the weird yellowing on the upper leaves? Ph-flux?
I think Budbrother’s initial assessment was probably the right track. ~700ppm runoff is a pretty depleted soil. When I used ff stuff new would typically range from 2000-4000ppm, the lack of consistency is the reason I don’t use it anymore. Or maybe your tester isn’t working properly?
Give it a feeding of base nutrients around 6.3-6.5ph and get a look at the runoff. Hopefully new growth will come in nicely.
I think the Strawberry Cough is a “Resolved” I am going to pitch it, as much as we all hate to do it, I can start over, and have a plant that size in just a few weeks with good gardening habits….. Well Maybe..LOL
And it looks like the Super Lemon Haze is coming around, Any feed back on this one? O wonder if it just needs a transplant? It is in a 3gal now.
That one’s definitely ready to transplant. I grow in three gallon buckets and bags.
Why? It’s a photo and very forgiving. Now issues resolving, save a seed. This one will will still produce if give the chance.
Got me thinking over here brother…
The only answer I can come up with is. I do not know what to do or how to nurse this plant back to heath. Is this something you are willing to help me with?
And on this one do you think this should be transplanted to a 5gal with some new soil? I thought the rule of thumb was if you look down and you can no longer see the bucket then it is time, but again unsure how to determine when it is truly time to transplant.
I can try, but I don’t know salts. My specialty is organics. Now that your feeding, it should shape up.
That’s up to you on the larger one in a 3 gal. It depends on how long you wanna veg it out. Going from 3 to 5 isn’t much of a change, soil wise. Those pots aren’t true to actual volume. Put a 3 into a 5 and you are dealing with an inch more diameter and depth. No substantial change to warrant transplanting and stressing roots. Going 3 in to a 7 gal would be more beneficial.
Roots stretched out as far as the canopy. So once a solo cup can’t be seen, it’s time. Most of us use clear cups inside a colored cup for starts, so we can pull them out and observe the growth.
On larger pots, transplants would be based on the amount of veg. The fabric pots do help air prune the roots, so becoming root bound is less an issue. Once they transition to wk3 flowering, they are no longer putting down roots.
That was fast post/delete. I clicked over immediately and it was gone
So i had to see the 3 and 5 for my self, and WOW, not much of a difference, I agree that the stress is not worth it. not sure if I would have enough space for a 7gal…Although I could just do it and put her in the flower tent…. I will have to do some measuring. and think tis one through…
As for the clone in the cup, I will get that transplanted to a 1gal fabric pot, my goal is to get this one up to a 3gal pot and then flip her, I have some clear 18oz cups on order, of which is a great idea for my next grow over on my Journal. ,I am going to keep it in the HP mix, although I may do a charge on the soil this time, as I have been reading the benefits of doing that with the HP mix. Questions: Does it matter if I move these updates over to my grow journal to have all of this in one place? Or do I need to leave the support ticket separate? As for the Strawberry Cough-I completely understand, I want to get to that point of only using organics. Is there someone that you know that you can tag that may be willing to help nurse it back to health?
Yeah still getting the hang of this platform..lol
