Hello, hope everybody is having a good Friday! Thanks for taking a look and any advice.

The one with the 2nd trellis net is from today and the one without it is from Jan 19.

Noticing some yellow or browning on some of the newer leafs, mainly at the top. Some others showing a few areas of yellow spots. Would anyone have any insight on what could be done to correct things?

Your plants look good Gro Bro. Maybe a touch of tip burn. New growth is always a lighter color. I just sprouted a couple of Strawberry Gorilla myself.
What is the TDS (PPM) of the nutrients going in, and what is the PPM of the runoff(coming out)? Your soil had enough nutrients to last 4-6 weeks without adding any more. But you’re kind of exiting that window, but you may still be overlapping a bit. I’m not a soil user, but I know your going to need to get readings of your nutrient solution going in, and coming back out. @Lostgirl is really knowledgeable on this. She will pop in but will need those readings to be able to help you out,
Keep up the good work. And keep this journal going so I can watch your success if you don’t mind.

Good day,
Thanks for the feedback but I think there may be an underlying issue to the discoloring and spots. Could it be low on nitrogen?
Tbh I didn’t really check the ppms since I always used fertilizer at half strength. Maybe she needs a good feeding?
The base ppms is about 150-200 from my tap and I the one time I checked it with nutes it was like 300-350. Never checked the run off though. Is there a target ppms going in? I was going to take her out and defoliate some of the backside that is more dense and water her tonight and was planning to read up on the possible cause of issue. Some photos from this morning, at the end of her light shift.

1.) Are you growing in Coco?
2.) what size pot you in?
3.) how often do you feed?
4.) how much do you feed each plant?
5.) exactly what and how much nutrients are you adding to your water?

Also, are you using bottom feed auto pots? (Meaning you’re not watering your plant by pouring water through the top?)

hi, thank you for taking the time to stop by and help me with my dilemma, i appreciate it very much. i see you on the forums always extremely helpful and nice.

im growing in a 3gallon fabric pot, with fox farms soils, about 70% ocean forest, 25% happy frog and about 5% coco loco (for the seed)

mainly top feeding until run off, add some water to the basin to keep humidity up. water about every 3-5 days. it’s been cold and dry in the house. the vgrow tent keeps humidity up pretty well compared to outside. inside is about 40-55% rh and outside tent is about 25%

i dont feed too often because i thought with the soils they would provide for the plant.
i supplement with about 1 tsp cal mag/gallon tap water, each watering.
i have the trio on hand of Fox Farms Tiger Bloom, Grow Big, Big Bloom and Cultivation Nation.
i also have their FoxFarm BushDoctor Sledgehammer, used just once about 10 days ago.

i was ignorantly watering with ro water at about ph 8-8.5 for the first 30ish days from germ, could this be signs of that error?
recently i got ph down to start treating the water down to about 6-6.7

1.) How many plants are in this grow area?
2…) How much water are you giving each girl per feed ?
3.) have you ever checked the ph and PPM runoff of your soil?

Are you checking and documenting the runoff’s pH and PPM?

Can you elaborate on this please. What basin and where is it are you referring to the water catch tray at the bottom of your plant?

Not a very good idea but we’ll go over that shortly.

I know you said you don’t feed a lot but when you do you use one half strength.
1.) are you using the fox farm soil feeding chart utilizing the different weeks of flower and veg recommendations what exactly what and how much to feed?

Were you adding anything to the RO water or simply just feeding RO water? And no I don’t believe your plant has suffered anything from the first 30 days of RO water.

I see several things you’re doing wrong that would be causing the issues that you’re having and believe me your plants are just fine. you’re just going about everything kind of differently than what you should be but we can go over that once you answer all the questions above

With this statement, Are you referring to your tap water or RO water?

i switched to tap water over the last 15ish days. i fill a bucket that is 1.5 gallon max, to about 1 gallon, let it stand in between waterings, at time of watering, id add calmag and/ the growbig then phdown to 6.5. should there be a target ppm? i know with ro it was like low single digits and with tap its at about 150-200

thank you again, i hope you have a good day!

I fed with 1 tsp calmag and 2 tsp big bloom
6.1ph
300ppm
1.5 gallon tap water
Should I cut these leaves off or will it just accelerate spread to others?

Would not trim yellow leaves until that go necrotic. Had the same creep in my current grow and let them eat until the nutes caught up. After 4rh day of feeding the yellow stopped spreading and by the 7th day all the leaves that were going to die had done so with the others holding or getting better. 2 plants lost about 10 leaves but total recovery

I gotcha, thanks for the advice…

@Zampano yes, teaspoons

Hey everyone, it seems to have stabilized a bit? Any suggestive actions for next feeds would be appreciated First time growing and hope to have something smokeable in the end lol.

Could too low ph water have caused this from a bit too much ph down from a prior water?

Hi your plants look good, make sure they get the bloom nutrients, it’s past time. FF schedule, flowering pribably 3 week

Understood, thank you very much for sharing advice!

I gave her another water today from the top. Drought to drench, about 6 days apart.
1 tsp calmag
1 tsp cultivation nation
1 tsp tiger bloom
ph 6.9
305ppm

Run off was 6.7ph but ppm was surprising higher than going in at about 950ppm. Is that okay or normal?
Doesn’t seem like any new brown spots are forming but some more burned tips. Should I skip any nutes next water?

Not normal, might or might not be ok, depends on why.
Only 350ppm that’s surprising, youre sure eh. I dont know them nutrients but I thought they are a trio used together.
Went from bottom- to top-watering.
Watering speed, nutes starting to disolve and leech. Maybe nute buildup. I dunno how to proceed with a bottom-feed system
