Suggestion for strains that are mellow relaxing and don’t mess with the mind as much. Don’t like the dark thoughts I get from what I been growing. Tried Girl Scout cookie and Gorilla Glue.

How often do you smoke, could it be tolerance related?
Only asking because after a several year break everything put me in a bad place. Took me several months to get comfortable. Every once in a while though something puts me in there. I usually just game or do something to keep me distracted.
ILGM lists potential THC for each strain, you could look for the lowest, or look into CBD strains.

I was off all mind altering substances for about 37 years. Don’t handle it like when I was younger. Started again at 69.

My favorite mellow strain is super silver haze. It’s a sativa. 18% thc. Trichomes about 10-15% amber at harvest. Good luck my friend. The weed is definitely different than what was available in the early 70’s.

There are some very nice high cbd low thc strains. Also some 1-1 cbd/thc. Cream and cheese from seedsman is a VERY nice medical strain. Loved growing it. 18% cbd or so and up to 24%thc. Our numbers at home are probably closer to 15/18. It was well received by my medical circle. Very mellow. Great cbd effects on body pains. Not an overwhelming freak out high. Harvests best earlier at highest cbd concentration over thc maximum. Just a strain suggestion.

Harlequin. Lower THC and a good amount of CBD.
More like the stuff from the 70s.
Plus with the lower THC level you dont run the risk of over medicating by taking one hit too many. Some on the high THC strains can go from pleasant (1-hit) to paranoid (2-hits) quickly.
CBD mellows THC so even buying a pure CBD disposable pen to keep handy can help if you need to mellow a session out a bit.

I find the biggest difference is the trich’s coloration. Last fall I tried a fall grow attempting to get some good color from the cooler weather… Yeah that was a fail, kinda. I had to harvest early than I wanted due to frost.
Competly different buzz than the same batch, same strain as before. Normally I like as much amber as I can get, this barely had any. Way different, may sound odd but the best way I can describe it… “cleaner”. Focused better, happier, everything just felt like it would all be OK.
I still plan to harvest most with lots of amber, but now I also plan to harvest a couple at mostly milky.
I was really surprised at how much difference it made.
I always have to over do it seems. Note I smoked a bud I cut off a few days ago from Ms Fox tail and I likes it.

Girl scout cookie extreme is totally one of the best I’ve ever had as far as weed goes.
