Had a few days of heavy rain and wind. Woke up to find the top 3 feet of Jack Herrer broken off and hanging by a thread. Also had a couple of branches break off of a Blueberry Photo.
She’s still a month or more away from harvest!
Should I do anything to help mend this injury?
yes, try to bring the branch back together and zip tie it…I think others have said add some honey to the cut
Thanks, @Retiredoldguy ,
There was no way to reattach the cola, but I used green garden tape to tie the branches.
Honey? Okay man - I’ll apply some to the trunk damage.
Thank you!
tape is probably better than the zip ties…I am pretty sure the outdoor growers use honey on the wound .maybe you can make a clone???
Wasn’t anywhere near ready for cloning. And since I’ve never cloned before…
Honey is a natural ointment for plants
Gorilla tape is good. Besides honey you can put aloe on the wound. It sucks when wind damages your plants. It happened to me this year. I have mine in grow pots, so I just bundle them to gether, as close as I can get them if it is super-duper windy. I have one plant I have gorilla tape, bungie strap, and zip ties on. and it is doing great.
