Ok, trying to figure out how to vent my exhaust from my dehumidifier to outside the tent. The exhaust has nothing sticking out of the shell. It’s a side discharge, about 12” tall and 6” wide, so I would have to fabricate something to cover the opening, attach it to the side of the unit, then get it out through one of the openings using dryer vent duct or something similar. Just haven’t came up with a design to cover the opening on the unit then connect it to the duct.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Is your tent in the basement??
If you use the dehumidifier in the room then the air pulled into your tent will be dry. How humid is your tent. Do you not have an exhaust fan or any sort of intake?
Im confused
A dehumidifier pulls in air with moisture in it and exhausts the dry air back out.
This is how it lowers RH in a given space.
Maybe some pictures would help me understand what it is you need to accomplish .
No, tent is in a 30’x50’ metal shop
Without the dehumidifier the tent runs 70 to 80% RH
Woah, thats alot
Need to get yourself a commercial dehumidifier for the shop or make a tarped area thats smaller and dehumidify that area
What’s the temp in your tent with lights on??..must be hot
Hey Happy, with my limited space with 3 scrog tables, and I didn’t think about it but I think the hot air exhaust from the dehumidifier is killing one of my plants.
I have 5 plants in this tent, 3 of which are GDP, this is the only plant with issues, and it’s right next to the dehumidifier. I have a res with ebb and flow, so they are all getting the same nutes etc. I vented the exhaust from the a/c outside the tent but that was easy, just can’t figure out to hook something up to the dehumidifier. Can’t get a pic now, of the dehumidifier lights are off, but I can get one tomorrow
Lights on, 80 to 90 with a/c set at 78 (late flower)
Yes, I live in a very high humidity area, and this year has been wetter then normal, and hot
I didn’t think about it before hand, but the exhaust on the dehumidifier I have is hot, and it blows out with a force when it runs a lot. Thought about building a wood frame area in the shop and just get rid of the tent, but that’s $$ to do it right

Issue there is the metal shop has roll up doors which are not air tight by any means. Easiest way I my opinion would be to vent the dehumidifier exhaust to outside the tent
I keep my basement at 50% and thats around what my tent is. I also am an outdoor grower so my tent is used for April and May and then plants are moved outside
I wish I had the option of growing outdoors
The best thing you can do is build a room condition the air there. Then let your exhaust fan in grow area pull air through a filter from this room. Think it is called a “lung room”.
Room could be small. Just big enough for a supply fan/ a/c and the other items you need. Seems like it would free up a lot of space as well.
Only good way, if you put a duct on the dehumidifier it will not work correctly.
I have a portable ac that has a dehumidifier built in. I stand it up on a bucket with another bucket behind it to drain. But it blows out dry, cold air. If i leave it on just fan mode it just moves air.
Can you get it colder in there? 90° is much too hot if you can avoid.
This morning it was 79 inside the tent. Lights are in from midnight till noon due to the coolest part of the day
