Ordered first autos for a quick turnover before summer arrives, Ordered ilgm grandaddy purple, after this grow i want to take down my 5x5 gorilla and purchase a 5x5 infinity and although i have wall to wall carpeting covered with 3’x4’ sheets of formica, when i change out tents i want to pull up carpet and lay down linoleum for easier cleaning. Looking forward to my first autos as soon as super skunk finish up, another week or two of plain water feeding and then what it takes for drying.

Autos aren’t necessarily quicker than photos from my experience they just flip to flower on their own. So if they flip to flower on like day 30 you’re still going to have to wait 56-63 days to flower on average. You can grow photos in the same time frame with similar results sometimes. Only advantage to an auto is they generally get bigger than a photo that isn’t vegged long enough.

I agree.
Some photos can and will finish faster than an auto. I’ve seen more autoflowers refusing to flower, but that’s what they do, they have their own schedule.

Autos your talking about taking longer may be due to stress and mishandling, autos finish up quicker
If your talking from experience you may be stressing your plants out and creating that longer grow, just a thought cause what your saying is contrary to what i read.

Lots of info say they are faster, but I haven’t seen it. They take as long as they take. You end up waiting on ripening either way.
I personally don’t like autoflowers

I think i said it before this is a one time only deal for me and i will more or less be leaving them alone as much as possible and concentrating on temperature and humidity.

Seedsman has fast flower auto beans available. Fast as in 2-3weeks quicker. I dont use auto as main grows myself. I mix them in with vegging photo so I can get big photo but still have a harvest in between. GL with the auto run. I really really suggest a tried and true strain. Something with a few years under its belt showing stability. Just my thoughts.

You may see a week or maybe 2 faster finish times. I grow a good bit of auto flowering plants and they’ll typically start flowering around 40-50 days above ground with 8-10 week flower to harvest time

My limited experience with autos. On my 4th run. I see them going into flower at like a month but like @OGIncognito said, maybe a few weeks difference. I tend to veg photos alittle longer just to stager the drying cycles. Plus I can leave a flowering auto in the same tent as a vegging photo running in 18/6 light cycle. I do move them when I go 12/12 for photos.

We can agree to disagree. Every plant has its own timeframe for finishing. Some will flower longer than breeder suggestion, and some will flower and finish sooner than recommended. Auto or photo regardless.
In my experience, and watching others grows, @MattyBear can finish most of his photos before an auto, growing from 12/12 from seed.
My opinion is a photo most generally will finish about the same time as an auto, or sooner because you have that control with a photo when to initiate flowering.
Auto flower there is not control.

Ya I just move them because I throw another photo into the 12/12 tent for flower. I like to keep a constant rotation due to my family smoking up everything…literally everything lol.

I agree there. I personally glean what i need to know from growers in a couple forums. Actual experience good or bad with everything. So many styles. Can tune easily with so much readily available hands on suggestions.
