I have never done a auto

What are the pro’s and con’s of growing auto’s over photo I know it is a shorter grow but is there any other advantages to it. All I have done so far is photo but thinking about getting some auto

biggest pro – no worrying about light cycles…

biggest con – smaller harvest (due to the shorter grow time)

otherwise they are just about the same. In the past, thc levels were an issue, but due to gentics now a days, the thc is comparable to photo plants…

The autos dont really have a shorter grow. Most of the time, unless you stunt them or something, they will veg for 4 to 5 weeks and start to flower. My WWA still took almost 15 weeks total. Not saying yours will take 15 weeks, I was just trying to explain that there really is no fast plant. Doing a photo and switching your lights at 4 weeks will get you the same time frame usually.

I haven’t seen any Autos that get to be huge plants that being said makes them a pretty good fit for indoor grow. I agree with other community members some can actually run as long as photos to finish.

I have heard you should go 6 weeks with a photo before switching to 12/12 I know I went 5 weeks with my white widows before switch and they did fine before getting bananas

That all depends on how big you want your plants vs how much area you have. For instance, I’m doing 4 plants in a 3x3 and I’m flipping to flower as earlier as possible.

That’s the bad thing about autos, you have no control over their veg times.

Yup I’ve just done my first auto run. There is no real advantage besides light cycle times like me I’m taking my photo plant putting it in my tent and moving all my veg plants in with my autos in my room will switch thier light cycle back to 18/6

Personally I love the autos they will definitely surprised you filling up a space. I’ve had to bend tops over towards the end to finish up could not raise the lights no more. Good luck with finishing your autos.

I can’t say I know anything about them

I got a journal on here that I pulled over an lb off one auto. My last auto, I got over 10oz. Here’s a bud from it

Not having to worry about The light cycle is a benefit. In one tent you can have autos at various stages if you want a small perpetual grow. I just grow personal for myself and autos work out great for me. For a while I also had a height limit. They fit the bill for that too

Can you tag me in your grow journal I’d like to see what you did to get that monster

I don’t have one for the last one but the one I pulled over an lb off of is titled “here I grow again”

I like the auto idea because they’re more resistant to disease and mold and I can have more varieties in a smaller space The one tent for all plants no matter the stage is a huge benefit also
