Newbie here. Getting ready to pull The trigger on my very first grow tent. Never done this before. I’m going to start off with just growing two plants at the time. I’ve narrowed it down to these two grow tents. Please give me your thoughts on which one you like
3x3. You will appreciate the shape.
I have 4 plants in a 4x4 and was thinking 2 plants in a 4x2 would be perfect, but apparently @Storm knows something about 3x3 tents I don’t! haha.
both have their pros and cons… I have a 3x3 and I only grow 1 plant at a time in it…the 4x2 I can see growing 2 in that tent but they will be crowded… I like to have room for my girls to spread out… I notice the 4x2 has a much better light…that 200 watt in the 3x3 is on the low side of what you need…
3x3 = 9 square feet light recommendation for filling tent around 400 watts.
4x2 8 square feet light recommendation 360 watts.
the 4x2 requires less reaching and with my back the 3x3 would need another door to reach back of tent. Both have good air circulation and plenty of openings.
For me the 4x2 wins with a light upgrade and some enviromental support systems like heater and humidifier as in my basement they are required.
PS small tent grower 2.7x2.7
I never bought a tent as a kit. But the vivosun tent is probably mid grade. The biggest trouble is zippers causing quite a bit of light leaks. The zipper flaps gets caught while zipping. I have three 4x4 tents all different brands. The walls and seams to be okay fairly heavy, the windows also doesn’t line up real good on the vivosun.
From personal experience, I prefer the high quality of AC Infinity tents and the components that come with it. I started with a 4x2 and quickly went larger to a 5x5. 4x2 would be okay for 2 plants but height becomes an issue. The extra 8 inches in an 80 inch high tent is a BIG deal.
Any way you decide to go, you will most likely get a better price by buying directly from the manufacturers website using the widely available discount codes.
Either would work. Depending on the space it will be going in. I would probably use the 2 by 4 but like others have said the lights arent quite gonna get you what you want in the end. D suggest buying it piece by piece and get a stronger light. You dont have to turn it all the way up. But having enough at the end of flower is crucial.
Id go with the 3x3
I grow in an ACI 2x4 and like the shape. Plenty of room for my heater and humidifier. And I can sit in front of it and reach the back easily. If you can spring for the extra I would go for AC infinity. It’s worked great for me.
I e had 3 different brands, the ACI is the best quality I’ve used. I’ve heard the Gorilla is a good quality but never used one. The. vivosun I had split at the stitching and zipper went south fast.
Seeing the crowded condition of my 2.7x2.7 vrs that 4x2 I have sad face for my mistake It is only 1.3 square feet difference but the layout is much more efficient. That picture don’t lie for sure.
Welcome , I recommend buy the tallest tent your space will accommodate. Also a plant needs a 2x2 space to have flexibility on spreading the limbs out for good light penetration.
Happy growing !
Thanks everyone!
I think I’m going to go with the AC Infinity 4x2x6ft on Amazon. The main reason for Amazon is that I can get 12 months of zero interest so that makes it much easier on my wallet.
The kit says it’s a complete kit. But what else should I add into my cart? I already have the recommended humidifier.
Dont worry you’ll out grow either one. If i had to pick the favorite tent i had it would be my 5 by 5. But i only do 2 at a time once a year for now. So i dont need alot of space.
Get the ACI TALL Germination tray with heat pad that will also hook to your controller and get you off to a great start. A heater and an extra S6 Circ fan. When you can afford it, I would upgrade the light to an Atreum Hydra 3200 light.
An Apera PC60 or similar PH/TDS pen is also a must.
Yes I’m only going to grow two plants at any one time. And probably just once a year. That’s more than enough
My 3x3 works great but 2 plants max. I’m in my 2nd week of flower and this is how my Jacks fit in the space
Make sure you have a good EC/TDS and a PH pen, get the best you can afford, most of us use Apera or Blue Lab. Most critical pieces of equipment in growing.
