Need some help with drying and cure

So let me start off with what i do. I do a dry trim , and let plants hang upside for 7 days with small fan in room for air flow. ( room is unsed bathroom in the house. ). Bigger buds will be dry and almost snap . Smaller buds dont snap but bend. According to my moisture meter they are around 10 % ( cant confirm the accuracy of meter) it has a digital read out along qith red yellow and green color to go with number read out. I jar my buds after trim 3/4 full in wide mouth mason jar, along with hydrometer. If they are over 65 rh. Ill leave lid off for a day till humidity comes down to 62. ( also cant confirm accuracy of hydrometer) purchased from Amazon. I have i of them and they are all + - a few points from one another. ? Ill burp jars twice a day for 2 week for 15 minutes each, sometimes the buds are sticky sometimes not. Round the end of second week the buds smell great but dont taste nothing like they smell. By the middle of 3rd week . Smell has slight gone but more pronounced once grinded. But smoke is horrible. Wont stay lit from puff to puff, taste like burnt wood and harsh as sand paper. Rh at this time is 58 to 62 some buds are rock hard other feel way fluffier or soft like then when they went in to jar. Usually by the end of 4th week its either gone or ive thrown it out,. Usually throw it out due to the disappointment. Not sure what im doing wrong but it seem so confusing. Make sure its dry , dont over dry, tou want some moisture but bud should snap befor jaring. My dry room temps are around 68 degrees and 60 rh. Ive not noticed any mold but i could be wrong, however ive been growing for 2 years now and haven’t got sick so i guess thats good. But for the most part ive only have 2 really successful grows. And both of those for whatever reason never lost their smell from chop to last bud smoked. Can anyone help or give a clear cut and dry way to dry and cure. Kind of like a dry and cure for dummies. I also know that all of my plant have been in lockout during grows. Was uding a lowes soil ( jungle growth) which maintains a ph of 7.2. Normally by the 3rd week of flower all plant lost fans with major yellowing and or something. Ive recently changed soils and nute. Happy frog soil and advanced nutrients. So far the 3 girls are looking great full and lush green. ( i have actually feed these plants yet. Just put them in tent for flowering. Im sure growing poorly will effect the harvest but im sure im not drying and curing properly . Ive pulled buds from a drying plant that tased 100 x better then buds ive cured for 30 days. The picture below is of the current plants in flower. The ones futher along are super skunk 5th week of flower in last bit of jungle growth soil i had they were already going when i was informed of the issue i was having. The pretty ones are in the happy frog.

Also using mars hydro sp 6500 light . Temps range from 77 to 80 degrees in tent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I keep my dry room between 50-55 humidity and temp about 65° It takes me about 7-14 days to dry buds before they go into jars. Then it’s another 3-4 weeks of burbing jars. I don’t use any Guages or fancy stuff i go by feel. The first few times i burp the jars(i use gallon glass jars) I’ll dump them out and let sit in a drawer or box for a few hours sometimes half a day. After a week or so I’m just removing lids and burping jars for the last 2-3 weeks. I might add you want your buds drying in a completely blacked or room. No light should be getting in.

Have you looked onto grow bags for curing? You can pretty much get it dried right then bag it and forget about it for a bit. No constant burping and humidity struggles. Lot of people here use them.
Also looking for some tips to take it to the next level lol

4 weeks?
I “cure” for 4 months, minimum, if I can.

I love the Gallon Glass “Snap Lid” Jars. (2/3 full).
Burping is easy with controlling lid.

Often, in the beginning, I will “pour” contents from one jar to another, for more even dry routine.

62% Boveda (large ones) fit in jar nicely. Pictured is wrong RH 49 %.

I have 62% large packs (for 1oz storage.)

Amazon has em my friend

Yes i have them but its not helping. Dont think im drying enough. My last batch went into bag after 3 weeks. Humidity shot up to 68 rh in the bag ?

one im burning now notice the black ash. I dont flush because i was told not to flush. It even went out while i was writing this lol

Wet weed will have gray and black ash as well. There are reasons to flush, but removing nutes isn’t one of them. I bet you are packaging too early. I take at least 10 days to dry at 64-66 degrees and 55-60% RH often times longer. I do cut up my plants just a little to promote even drying. I use the snap test to determine when it’s time to package. Then it’s to the 1/2 gal mason jars with a small air gap. Most of the time by this point I just have to take the lid off for a few minutes to let fresh air in a few times over the next week or two. Sometimes just opening the jar to check for chlorophyll smell is enough. After a month or so it will be ready seal away. Mine stays fresh and often gets better for years. You just need to check the jars every month or two to make sure everything is good. If you rush any one step it will throw off the following ones.

Burping, is a labor of love, IMO.

I personally i dont like the bags. When it is going good for me , theres nothing like opening a jar and getting smack with awesomeness. I pray my next batch works out, should be pulling them in 3 to 4 weeks. These where grown pretty well even with crappy soil.

I can barely make it 30 days. Finally realized that im just shooting myswlf in the foot . I would give it to my brother to cure but he’ll forget to burp them. If i give him a quarter it will last him 3 months, where an oz will last me and my wife a week maybe 10 days.

Open bag (with stored RH device), burp the bag.

I use bags and jars.
Jars are easier to burp when “poured into another jar”
Bags (and jars) need empty space, not packed tightly.

Single bud test measured (still too moist for bag).
Love 1-gal snap lid jars (cure w/ easy burp lids) or 1-OZ bags.
Check often. Best to you.

It’s all about the jars. I wish someone would make a proper 1 gal curing jar with a wide enough mouth already.

I tried the Grove bags a couple years ago and found them to be a waste of time and money. Mason jars work best for me.
