so its been 4 days since they been hanging, With temps of 86F and 55RH BUT some of the leaves feel dry and crispy to the touch what should i do ? Leave it hanging till monday or Trim and put in jars with a 55% Humidity pack. Would appreciate some
help !
When the smaller buds are dry enough to brake off without a string from the stem attached you should be right to jar up.
I.use the 62% humidity packets, I also have a humidity reader in my jar lids to see the environment inside. Just to be sure I didn’t jar up too early…
My jars are empty atm.
If the humidity gets too high (70+) I empty them out and dry a bit more.
Hope that helps mate…
Do you suggest for me to trim and jar them? and if above 70RH then take out to dry still ?
It looks good from the photo.
If the humidity gets too high in the jar mould will grow and your product will not be smokable.
That’s why I have rhe meaters. You can get them cheep, ebay. They don’t have to be in the lids. I just do it for ease of reading them.
There is an ongoing debate weather to wet trim or dry trim. That is up to you. I wet trim then final trim when dry befoe jaring up…
There dry atm they been drying for 4 days i do have a lil reader as well. But do you think i should jar them up ? or wait 2 more days.
If a small bud comes off cleanly then jar up. Put your meater in on of the jars, probably the one with the densest buds in it and keep an eye on them.
Remember to burp your jars twice a day for 10-15 minutes first week, second week once a day, third week twice a week…
i got some humidity packs do i still need to burp ?
Just tried taking the bud off like it i was gonna roll a blunt and it came right off
Ive read that if the Medium size stem crack when bending then time to jar and if the large stem crash when bending its to dry and to put a leave of a growing plant to add humidity back to it
Definitely,
they need the fresh air. Makes all the difference to your final product…
That should climb with the himidi pack in the jar. If not…
I like to keep temperature 68 to 70 degrees when drying so I can get a slow dry 8 to 10 days. Possible when drying too fast you end up with a product that smells and tastes like hay . Humidity 50 would be good. Couple fresh Leafs in the jar will bring your humidity back up. Just my thoughts good luck.
woke up to 47RH should i cut down and trim now dont want them to get more dry
Hope this helps, you def want to try getting the rh up. If it goes below 60% your curing is over(too dry). Pop a fan leaf or 2 in the jar and see if it’ll come up. The humidity packs I’ve seen are the 62% rh packs. That’s the best rh% when storing for months.
Id rather have took them too early off the hang dry rather than the buds being over dried out and having to try putting moisture back into them. Also to note it can take 24 hrs to get an accurate rh reading
Every grow is a learning experience. Hopefully it’ll bump up that number. For future grows/cures, I’d pick up a Mason jar. Something about glass seems to hold the moisture better.
i have some but they too small wont fit there. Ill buy some soon thoe don’t wanna keep in the bag
