I bet it does. I use citric acid and/or my KNF ferments to lower the pH. You may need to use sulfuric acid with that much Ca in your water.
Iāve used citric acid with the same results as vinegar but it does take a little less citric acid. I think at the end of the day the answer is better water filtration and treatment. I live in the middle of nowhere so even citric and sulfuric acid can be hard to find and expensive to ship. I appreciate your input. I might have to try some sulfuric acid in the mean time.
The citric acid has better staying power than the vinegar once stabilized the pH. Youāre way beyond its use and would be much happier with sulfuric acid. If you have pool supply companies or a Walmart around, then get the SA from them. You may wanna look into a water distiller. I love mine and their cheap
Cool, I didnāt know that. I just have to waste a day to go into town. There is even a chem supply I can get stuff from. I just hate going into Albuquerque, itās like a 3rd world country these days. Iāve been tinkering with some ideas for a solar still I just couldnāt figure out how to deal with all the calcium buildup.
The water distiller would be gunked with calcium inside, but some vinegar cleans that right out. I clean mine after 3-4 gal made, but youād probably only get 2 gal before cleaning.
Awesome, truly awesome.
Iāll have to look into it. I can probably get away with low volume now. Thatās why I came back to organic soil. I was going through a 50 gal res in 2 days in coco and the nearest source of RO water is a 30 min trip. Plus soil smells better.
I never liked RO water. Itās chit for living soil without a re-mineralization cartridge.
Couldnāt agree more. I used to have a place at the bottom of the valley. The soil and well water were the best around. Every time there was a fire on the mountain we would get a monster garden the next summer when the rain came and it all washed into my back yard.
@Budbrother @Gl1tch Well, now I have to make a decision withy water.
I used my well water with my current grow and they started out with pH issues,I think.
It was classic signs but I don t know anything. The slurry test told me the pH was way high.
So I lowered it with commercial granule stuff.
The girls bounced back after that.
My plan was to go RO but now Iām not to sure I want to if itās shit for organic soil.
@Gl1tch
Dude, can you make sense of this info on my county well water?
@Gl1tch , donāt mean to butt in but you can buy sulphuric acid at most any auto parts store that carries batteries, and itās dirt cheap!
Thanks for butting in. Idk why I hadnāt thought of that. Iāve even gotten it there before. Itās technical grade but I guess beggars cant be choosers. @chris998760 itās just saying that you have a small amount of contaminates in your aquifer but nothing over what is considered a safe level
Alrighty, guess Iām going well water with the young ones now.
@Budbrother @Gl1tch
I did everything you guys suggested and they seem to have bounced back. The flowers are building. I also added this stuff I had called Neptunes Organic fish seaweed liquid fertilizer.
My leaves are losing their green. Do you recognize anything? Thanks
Iām glad that things have improved for you. I used to use that brand in veg. Itās a great veg compost tea additive. Great for fungal dom brews. I donāt use any fast release N in flowering, but you have to do what ya gotta to pull a harvest.
Thanks for the help, so add some fast release N? Organic safe.
The fish/kelp you added is fast release form of N. It will green things right up.
Fast release N in flowering strips terps. Itās too late for you to re-amend with slow release forms.
Ok cool!
Actually thatās not too cool ![]()
Iām making a super soil mix right now to let sit for a couple weeks. Can you suggest something that I can add that will lower the pH?
