These are acidic
Peat moss
Cottonseed meal
Soy bean meal
Roger that, what at like 20 percent of the total mix?
Should-Can I use them all at smaller ratios?
@Budbrother @Gl1tch
Hey guys found this on the Internet, do you agree? "For lowering pH - do the microbes in soil convert elemental sulphur to sulfuric acid which will lower the pH?
Theres some kind of mold growing where the points in air pot cone out. So whatever it is it needed o2?
Yes, agreed, but it takes 5-6 months to see results. What you see there is Mychorizal symbiosis with the roots. If experiencing a high pH, brew a fungal tea or hit it with an anaerobic Bokashi brew.
Ok thanks, so what I need to do is focus on a compost pile and let that happen and then use it as soil, correct?
At that point the soil is a constant 6 pH range, no matter if my well water is 8 ph?
The little guys are taking care of that?
That one plant with the mycorrhiza in the roots was just given a one shot amendment pretty much before I upped the pot size.
Before I get my compost situation dealt with will upping the size with new soil somewhat prevent deficiencies?
Thanks again. You are a wealth of knowledge. You share it too!
@Budbrother @Gl1tch
Can I use elemental sulphur amendments until I have it naturally?
That indicates a high fungal concentration. You need to introduce more bacteria to the pots.
Fungal dom = acidic
Bacterial dom = alkaline.
I tend to use Microbe Complete for a balanced ratio in my pots.
Compost will tend to be bacterial dom when taken off the top before turning pile. Compost with lots of wood or towards the bottom, tendency is fungal. The pH of the pile will indicate where it stands and tell you if the C:N ratio is off.
Can you give an exact number to that 6.0 range? Does it fall below the 6.0 range or does it tend to rebound up after couple days? Just trying to figure out how to go about guiding you.
Confusing. Thought you were running low already.
Do you have any Bokashi?
No, but now I know about it, I will.
Iām stoned bro, I have 3 different grows right now and it gets confusing.
Stay lifted dawg
So bokashi can be topdressed I see. Can I do that to my 6 flowering right now or just add it to compost?
Hereās an important question because my 9 week olds and 3 weeks olds have microbes development in soil. No signs of deficiency.
Iām still pH ing the water.
I donāt need to right? Should I slowly stop pH ing water or just altogether stop?
Itās a great compost starter.
Add in with a top dress to break down amendments. It adds beneficial microbes and mycorrhiza. It can also be brewed as a tea in aerobic and anaerobic forms.
I suggest the later to bring pH down. The flowering plants especially prefer the anaerobic form, and I do it once weekly by itself. Hereās the directions for any brand.
Key point: Make sure you brew 24-48 hrs before adding the molasses.
Hard to call that one. Try it a week and see. My suspicion say, without an anaerobic Bokashi brew (3.5-4.2 ish ph), youāll probably still have to reduce it some. Once the soil is ran a couple times and microheard fully established, naw, no need.
Can I use this stuff still? Iām using currently this and other natural raw amendments [you suggested] with my young ones.
9 weeks and zero deficiences on those girls!
Except their size but thatās no fault of their own.
Under a Veg light wanting to go in the real light in the 5x5, those 6 plants there have been growing for 13 weeks!
I donāt know when to flush them
These six I used the Natureās in the pic. But it was the Auto flower method where you put the emendment on lower third of large size pot and fill the rest with brand bag soil. {Im sure you know of it}
There was no heard by the time the roots got there and bagged soil nutes ran out.
I started them on 8 pH well water as well, before there was a heard.
That didnāt work and finally was kindly instructed you need to pH the water.
Ladies did bounce back and then deficiences started to mount.
And here I am now.
Appreciate your time bro.
Thera no flushing with organics. No salts to build up in the buds. Easy peasy ![]()
Thinking that was me. I know that I pH my water down to 6.2-6 range in the small, unestablished pots that I use for transplants. If I donāt, my pots run 7.3-4 and I get P lockout. Now that my latest batch of Bokashi is colonized, I donāt bother to; as long as I hit it with anaerobic brew. I try to never run outta Bokashi, but sometimes weather delays my production.
Ok, I need to do more research on bokashi.
It wasnāt you that told me to pH my water I, I forgot but it was the first person to reply to my post.
About the Natureās living soil, you think itās best not to use it with bokashi? Just use it until I have a bokashi batch ready?
The Bokashi goes well with any organics. Itās what will consume and make nutrition available. Plus other benefits from the probiotics.
Ok, this is great. I will look and definitely use this in my next compost batch like tomorrow.
