Need help on Start up

Recently ordered a 4x4 grow tent with 4in fan and carbon filter with a VS2000 LED light. How many plants can be grown?

It’s a 200 watt light that will flower 1 plant effectively. You can fit more plants (3 to 4) in a 4x4, but you will need more lighting.

I’m new to this world so Im still trying to understand all the works. How many more lights would I need?

You need 500 to 700 watts to adequately light a 4x4. 200 watts per plant is a pretty good metric. Be sure to stick with lights built with Samsung LM301 diodes. There are a ton of fraudulent LED grow lights on Amazon. You have to be careful about what you are buying. Do you have a budget in mind for lighting? Quality lighting isn’t cheap.

Thank you!

I don’t have a set budget. If everything works for me I plan on upgrading to higher quality light in the future but as of now the funds are low for lights.

@DalaynaBeasley HLG is a favorite for lights here. I bought Amazon cheap stuff to get going, but now I am buying HLG and AC Infinity products. All this to say if you want to grow good quality weed don’t cheap out. Especially when it comes to lighting.

If possible I’d return the 4” and upgrade to at least a 6”. My 4” ac infinity was at max power in 4x4 and couldn’t keep the heat down in tent when I upgraded to an hlg blackbird so I upgraded to an 8” and haven’t had any problems since.

Welcome, I agree with the lighting. Also want to ask where you are putting your tent. You may need supplemental heat to keep at least 65 degrees. Lights put off heat. Your 4" exhaust might not be adequate to remove the hot air. I have a 4x4 tent with6" exhaust and xp3000 light. My light is not really powerful enough. I have to run a small ac unit to keep my tent cooled below 85 degrees. I’m certain you will encounter problems along the way but the people here are great at helping! Happy growing
