Grow lighting for a 4' x 4' tent

What size LED grow light would I need for a 4’ x 4’ tent. Can’t afford 1 right yet but thought I’d kick a few tires. As for now my old setup will be fine. It may be outdated but its grown me alota good weed over the years.
Thanks

~40 watts per square foot, so a 4x4 requires 640 watts. Suggest getting a light built with Samsung LM301 diodes. The are a lot of scam LEDs out there, especially on Amazon.

Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, HLG, and AC Infinity all have good options.

Can someone post a pic w/info of a LED light that will work for my 4’ x 4’ tent. I was told I needed minimum 640 watts.
Any help will be truly appreciated.

Here is one great choice.
If you try to go cheap on lights you will be replacing whatever you get with something like this in the future. Do yourself a favor and buy the right light right from the start.
A 4x4 tent needs a lot of light.

I’ve got the AC Infinity Evo 3 light in a 4x4. It’s only if I remember right a 280w light. (Granted Im only growing 2 plants at a time right now)
When the budget permits I’ll be picking up a second Evo 3. So I’ll basically have an Evo 6 but I’ll have 60 more watts😂.

Hey there @MidwestGuy this lighting thing…I found this online:
Mars Hydro TS 3000
Says it will do a 4’ x 4’ tent and up to a 5’ x 5’ tent. Is this what I’m look’in for.
Thanks

4x4 at 35w per sq. ft is 560w. The TS3000 is 450 so you are just under the recommended amount per. Not bad though. You have options as to the height and can get more DLI/PPFD if the light is closer. They usually have 12" - 16" and 24" maps. I grew my first plant under a TS1000 in a 2x2 and it was pretty dang good for a first grow.

Guess I’ll keep look’in. And I’ll hafta find a few more pennies. As you can see my penny jug isn’t very full.

I can vouch for the Mars Hydro FC-E4800, bang for buck, it’s hard to beat, especially when on discount.

I have four (4) 100W Vivosuns in a 3x3 tent and they work great.

Plenty of good options out there just be careful.

Right now medic grow is having a killer sale on an 800 watt light just under $400 it’s got cheaper diodes but their products are fire I don’t know anybody who hasn’t grown top quality buds under medic grow all of their lights are a very good deal don’t shop Amazon go to the manufacturers
