Long time smoker, first time grower. Looking for a mentor

You should be checking the ph and EC before feeding AND runoff for comparison. That will tell you how to mix feed next time.

If you check my journal, you will see I post before and after numbers for my grows.

@Growdoc What’s your thoughts on PAR meters? Living in SoCal, energy is very expensive. Is there any benefit to getting a meter considering I’m doing a 500w light?

Or do you just trust the PPFD maps?

Or Is this going to over complicate my first few cycles?

I use the Photone app. It’s free but has a fee of like 6 bucks for the full spectrum LED setting. As long as you use a diffuser, it works ok. With a 500 watter, you should be fine to just make sure to keep them at least 16 inches from the buds. I would at least get the app so you know where you are at various settings and distance.

Fantastic find. I purchased the diffuser from Lightray. Great tip there. @Growdoc

We are getting down to the final details here.
Few final questions.

For clones, do you prefer plastic planters or nursery bags? Can you actually stick the nursery bags directly in the forever soil?

I used to clone in rooter cubes, but recently started them in pretended Promix in small clear glasses. Put them in a propagation tray with a dome over them. You can see roots forming in the clear cup. You can up pot them or go to forever home from there when they have good roots.

The clear cups make a lot of sense, I found this cheap set on amazon ready to go with domes - link below. Your wisdom is appreciated once again.

I am feeling extremely prepared. I think I’m getting to the point where it’s time to stop asking questions and start trying.

I’m going to run all the numbers a few more times and should buy everything else tomorrow.

Going to get 4 of the same clone for round 1. 2 with Jacks and 2 with King Solomon.

They sent the wrong size for the main tent so I have been building out the drying tent. I had this idea years ago and it seems to be working well with a 1 RPM motor, can’t wait to dry it.

The plastic pallets and wood base are due to seasonal flooding in the San Diego area. Expensive but necessary.

So what size is that tent. 1 rpm can you count the blades going around.

You’d have to line the blades up on something just to see if they were moving! Mabey that’s setting number 1……

If this let me post videos it would make more sense it makes one full rotation a minute. This is the perfect speed to expose the buds to fresh air without having to put a fan near the buds which would cause them
To dry faster. Trying to dry as slow as possible while reducing chances for mold.

Are you talking about that AC infinity fan in the top of the tent? Because that is most certainly not spinning at 1 rotation per minute.

Edit to clarify: zooming in closer it looks like you have a small motor attached to the drying rack, is that what rotates once a minute? Therefore keeping the rack in motion?

Haha yes, the motor spinning the drying rack

Getting work in as soon as I finish work. Hoping to be up and running by next week!

That makes more sense. I run the same ACI fan and I was like how did you get it to barely move lol. Happy growing! :call_me_hand:t2:
