Is there a difference in using either FF Happy Frog vs Ocean Forest?

Oh sorry I asked this question again because I hadn’t seen you answer this. Thanks man! For my second tent I have FF soil but haven’t used it yet. Could you recommend a better soil to use? I’m seeing that FFOF has no potassium and I’m noticing yellow tips and assuming it’s because of that

Yellow tips is usually a nitrogen problem, not potassium. Can you post pics? You shouldn’t be having problems if you’ve not started feeding yet.

Other good options include Roots Organics, Black Magic, or Coast of Maine. You have to be careful with soils for cannabis, as the soils must be properly buffered for cannabis. Vigoro and Miracle Grow soils are definitely a no-go. If you have OF, then just stick with it. It’s fine.

OF has everything the plant needs for the first 4 to 6 weeks.

You don’t need all that. You only need parts A and B and Epsom.

Get rid of that straw. Cannabis in soil needs wet/dry cycles for good health. You actually want the soil to dry out every 2 to 3 days. Chronically wet soil inhibits oxygen uptake by the roots and will cause root rot.

Your plant is doing fine.

Start when the runoff PPM gets below 1,000 and then feed as necessary to maintain that 1,000 runoff PPM.

Jacks is a complete product and supplements are unnecessary. If you are referring to bloom boosters - they are snake oil, can cause problems, and should be avoided. They generally lead to pH problems and screw up your NPK ratio.

Do not use if already using Jacks. I’ve never seen a cannabis grower use this product and wouldn’t recommend it.

I haven’t. I stick with tried and true FF Happy Frog and Jacks. There are a few organic growers here in the forum.

I would be careful about what you use among the suggestions on YT. These content creators are just that - they get paid to create content whether it is good advice or not. Some of them are more interested in clicks than they are providing good information. There are some good channels and there are an equal amount of bad ones.

@Olpacdonald I would as well… Unfortunately, I had to take a loss as well.

Roots organics Original and Jack’s work excellent together.

With Roots Organics Original, I don’t start feeding nutes, only watering with distilled or RO water for up to 6-8 weeks… Which takes me almost all the way through the Veg stage… I’ve really only had to add nutes through flower with Roots and Jack’s.

Okay I’m in FFOF this run but I’ll try out roots next.

For drying and curing are you just hanging whole plant 60/60 for two weeks and then into mason jars?

Saw something called cannatrol not sure if you’ve heard of it but I saw that you like trying out new toys for this stuff (jealous of the concentrate set up you posted lol one day ill *dabble in that) but cannatrol is a repurposed wine cooler but with added features to keep due point correct during dry and cure. It’s overpriced imo, but I’m curious about your thoughts on that. I’m considering making one with my buddy who does hvac

I dry in a small bathroom where I can control temp/RH. I just hang a sweater dryer over the shower curtain rod and place the flower on it.

Be sure to burp your jars adequately. I burp mine 2x daily for a week, then daily for another week or 2, then to long-term storage once RH in the jars is stabilized at 60%.
