@PurpNGold74 Hey, what size Perlite is best??? Do u have a certain one u recommend? smaller stuff or bigger. Like # 3 is ave. half inch… I think… Perlite in ffof is way smaller, but… i wonder what would be best? AND It has a ph too! I almost forgot about that for a second there!!! lol One said 7.1 ph, which is a bit high. (Would like to have my soil… stuff in the soil… be the right ph…, like ffof is pretty good ph…) Others did not say what ph they are… At least that one company tells u what ph it is…! Wonder which perlite is best?

Anyone know of perlite BRAND that has good ph…, and is best size for 3 or 4 gal. pots…??? Thanks!!!

@blackthumbbetty. U r growin Auto’s too? U prob. told me that already, but I am old and forget things easily now days!!! lol U like growin Autos? They grow good for u? U had some success with them? I been goin back and forth about which to plant next, Autos or Photo’s… Was lookin at seeds yesterday, was gonna buy some, but could not decide which kind to get at the end of the day! I made a lot of mistakes with mine, and some bad luck with bad amount of sun, when i needed it most…, but not too sure about auto’s myself, after hearing some other peoples woe’s over them and all… Would be better for me to plant Auto’s next time, but I sure do have my doubts about me being able to do a good job of growin them things! lol

Haha. You know… i didnt even look at all that. Got my perlite from lowes on sale. With my soil (and some ffof from a gardening store) didnt even read all that. I know it had no fertilizer. Never buy time release fertilizer stuff. N i told ya. Get both :joy::rofl::rofl::joy:. Bedtime for me man. Have a great night. Back at it in the maro

I do like autos. I’ve grown 6 different strains to harvest. I currently have 7 strains going, only a week or so into grow.

Autos aren’t quite as forgiving as photos, but they also don’t need solid darkness to flower. With or without a tent, my grow room never gets completely dark. I decided to try autos to alleviate my stressing about light leaks.

I like them. I plan on focusing on autos for all my grows.

Thanks!!! Maybe I will try again… Just gotta figure out how to get them growing fast and furious right out off the blocks!!! lol If I do try em again… lol

Please let me know if u have found in ur research and growing experience, an Auto that really is hearty and easy for a beginner like me to to grow and hopefully get a decent yield and hopefully some good hard nugs… @blackthumbbetty and anyone else too!!! Would be good if it is a really popular strain too, and/or good thc count… lol

Hey @heybudletsparty! I actually have 3 tents. I have a 2x2, 3x3 and the 4x3 dual purpose tent. I’d check Amazon and read the reviews people post. Go for one that has good reviews because I cheaped out on my 3x3 and I have to tape up light leaks already :v:

I’d go with the smaller perlite. I buy the Black Magic or Black Gold brand found at Home Depot. Don’t buy the Miracle Gro perlite because they charge it with nutes that can mess up your grow

Hey, @PurpNGold74, howz it goin today? Thanks for the help yesterday… Learned a lot…! @PurpNGold74 and Anyone else that knows… what are the jagged leaves called? The first little round ones are called something that starts with a c, I think…? lol How does one define ā€œnodesā€? Heard it used in a couple different ways on here I think!

Im not sure the jagged leaves have a name, they’re just leaves, but the first, round feeder leaves you’re talking about are called cotyldons. The nodes are counted after the cotyldons, each set of leaves is a node.

Thanks a lot @raustin!!! COTYLDONS!!! I have to remember that…!!! lol Someone had said that I should top these stunted little Auto’s now… I have been thinking maybe I should before they go to flower mode??? Then maybe they will, or they should start to grow branches off of those nodes???

Anyone have any opinions on topping these stunted plants??? They are over a month old, but are only about 4 inches tall. They never got enough sun, when they were in a greenhouse, and other beginner type mistakes I made, now I have them under a cheap little light I bought, and they are looking like they are starting to grow better… Let me measure them in a few minutes here… They do look healthy though…!!! lol Thanks for any advice!!!

Sup my man. Im cool. Long day. N do u have a pic of the little ladies?

No, my camera does not wanna work lately!!!:angry:Kinda a bummer to put it mildly!!!

If they’re a month old then you can top them, but really a pic would help to determine just how stunted they are.

Topping already stunted autos? You probably only have 8ish weeks before she’s finished. You probably won’t see any kind of stretch.

Well, They are not flowering yet…, so I thought, ā€œif I top them, like that one person suggested a few days ago, then maybe it/or they, will start to branch, create branches, otherwise each plant will just be one bud plantsā€¦ā€. I know they will really never have any real yield, unless a miracle happens…, but 6 buds per plant is probably better than one bud per plant…??? No? Bad idea??? Maybe if I top them or one of them, it or they will get shocked, and stunt even more, or start to flower!?!

Heck, I dunno… I gotta get some more seeds, and try again, that much is for sure!!!:cry:

@blackthumbbetty, U think I should not top them then??? If they do not start to branch, they will just be one bud per plant though? Right? I have seen that happen before i think a long time ago, when I had to move my plants, (transplant my plants), that were outside in the ground, for security reasons… They got shocked, and stunted and were just one nice, stoney bud per plant… lol But no one called the cops, and no one stole them… lol
