The blue pot is an auto. Startd in june. Startd making pistils (flowering) at 30 days. The big one outside is a photo. Startd in April

That looks pretty good for an Auto! How tall is that??? That seems like it must have grown pretty quick before it flowered? I guess some strains keep growin a lot, or quite a bit, after they flower, and some don’t? I think I read… Thanks for the pics @PurpNGold74 and the advice too!!!
Go back n check it. Happend so far i wasnt ready. Maybe a foot tall. Ill pull her out for pics in a bit. Still hunting my measuring tape for my science project

I was just thinking… I need to check and see what ph rain water is here!!! I got some in some tubs ourside!!! I have seen a good rain do amazing things to all kinds of plants before… I water when they need and they just stay alive, but then a good rain comes and things will grow like crazy!!! Unless the plastic tub changes the ph???
Rain water here is usually green by the strips. Need a pen to check it. Thanks @blackthumbbetty hopefully it holds til Friday

@PurpNGold74. I know u r saving up to make some new led’s… HLG does have those 65 watt lights for about $100 bucks… Would have bought one of those, instead of this cheap little light if I could have got it here as quick, but the place was closed Sat… Can veg. 2x2’ area, not sure what they say about flowering, 1 x 2’ i think… Would be good for a few or couple seedlings and early veg…, i think… Let me know if u want me to look up where i got my light, they said they can ship things out in a day or 2…
Could put a lot of seedlings in 2 x 2’…, and good strong light too, i think… like a 260 only smaller, but same type of light…
I think i might make up some water, for my pot plants outta that rain water… That should be good for any type of plant, if I make the ph right, eh???
might even try and put just a little bit of nutes in it too… Those plants are small but they are over a month old I think, so should be ok to put half shot of nutes on em now???
O yea. Ive seen them man. I was actually building 2 100w 12x12 sized strip builds. No qbs. But Similar. So i orderd strips. $83 for 20. The rest of it i assume is around $125. So 200 watts of high grade light. ~$210 right?
Wrong! They sent me double the length strips i paid for. (Some kinda blessing from the reefer light gods). So now… im basically tryna decide what to do with them. I could make one nice 3x3-4x4 filling light. Or i could ramp up 9 strips to a better amp. Cover ALMOST that much at a worse trade off in efficiency and light lifetime. N make a couple smaller lights. Or i can keep thinking and come up with enough for vegging. Flowering. Clones. And my ‘science project’ at the expensive of a couple different fixtures and drivers. (More upfront costs but can break it down over different builds)
Certain plants use different pHs. And u dont have to sell me on qbs. Ive been around here helping lead the revolution

Wow… U could make one light for veg…, and one for flowering…, so when harvest u got ur next crop ready for ur flower set up, tent, or whatever kind of set up… That’s what i wanna do… See if this light is any good, or maybe get one of those HLG 65’s myself, for seedlings and veg…

No weed uses one. Watermelon another. Potatoes another
Some strains of weed r more sensitive to pH changes. Or need less N then others so pH is less important. But generally soil weed grows pH around thr same. Hydro a different range. Etc.
N yes. I want to get a perpetual grow rolling. Always have something in veg something in flower. N when u run the 260 u wont go lower

Another lesson for today. Lights ‘temperature’ refers to colors. Blue lights 4000k n up veg better. Reds 3000k-2700k flower better. But between 3000k- and 4000k they basically can do either

Yea, I never yet understood that light thing…HLG says a 260 watt will be good for a 4 x 4 veg. tent, OR a 3 x 3 flower tent!!! i would think u would pull the strong light back a bit for flower so u don’t burn the hairs, pistols… and crystals… on the buds… I don’t know why they say what they say, but i know they do… If the experts say it, then it must be true, but i do not understand it yet…!!! lol I bet u do tho!!! It Is not very important for me to know why that is right now, it is just important that i know it is a fact…, lol but it sure is an interesting question to me!!! lol
Of course there are a lot of other interesting questions I do need to figure out the answers to asap…, If I am gonna start another crop asap!!! lol:sweat_smile:

Lol its fine. N u can certainly flower just fine under a 4000k (supposedly veg light) just like u can veg under a 3000k. No big. Just ‘dedicated’ works better. Definitely not a ‘buy me for this’ mandatory thing. N like i said. Any questions ask away. There are some insane scrogs around here. Just

@PurpNGold74. Have ever used or owned a grow tent? U gonna get one? I think I am gonna get one for that new light… Gotta figure that out…, and i would think that I would need at least one fan in there??? Even though that light is not super hot…???
Anyone have any suggestions for good 3 x 3 tents, or good companies that makes them… ??? Or terrible companies to not buy from??? Seems like Good, strong zippers would be really important!!! And actually large, (plastic) zippers seem best on various bags, and jackets I have had over many, many years, believe it or not… lol. Sure would be great to buy one from an American Company…, (where I live…), or a tent not made in China… lol

Thanks @PurpNGold74 … I asked MattyBear… awhile ago… His is a just a little too big for my space I think… Thinking of 3’ x 3’ right now, but many companies make different sizes, I figure…
If anyone has had a tent for awhile of any size, and still likes it…, or really hates it…??? Maybe that company makes a 3’ x 3’… The ones people like that is! lol And i can avoid the ones people don’t like…

My tents are both cheap, but work well enough for my autos. They definitely are not light tight, but otherwise they are great! I have two 2.5x5x7 Hydroplanet tents. Cost under $80 each.
