I waited 8 weeks from the time I planted the germinated seeds to shorten the lights schedule from 18/6 to the 12/12 cycle.
The grow is now in the 4th week since the 12 on 12 off flower cycle began.
During vegetation- Fox Farms grow big
Start of flowering- Fox Farms 1/3grow big–2/3 big bloom.
There have been some leaf drop and drying up on lower portion of both plant but nothing to alarming.
Noticed definite yellowing towards top of the left plant.
Tested the soil in same plant pot with a rapitest kit. Ph tested 5.5 amd showed k deficient.
The Tiger bloom when mixed with the 6.5ph water registers a 3.9ph so I quit usung it until I figure out the yellowing. I bout some Espoma organic garden line and did the math to reduce the appropriate dose.

You mentioned the pH was 3.9 with the tiger bloom…Did you adjust it before giving it to the plant or just water the plant with 3.9 pH water? The soil testing at 5.5 is way too low. Should be at 6.5.
If your pH is low in the root zone thats what is causing your problem.
Yea, definitely a lockout going on. Hence the deficiency showing in the leaves. You’re ideal ph for soil is 6.3 to 6.5. Always mix your nutes the ph balance them before feeding.
Yes I mixed the Tiger Bloom with water and used it several times (3 or 4) and didnt test it until yesterday the 14th.
I used the Tiger Bloom on the Sept. 1st, 4th, 6th and then accidentally ( moisture gauge was glitching) over watered both plants on the 7th.
How would I adjust the ph on the Tigerbloom mix. Could I use the lime to bring it up?
You have to or your plant isn’t eating. Too high ir too low and your plant isn’t getting the nutrients it needs. It’ll lockup the roots and no growth. Growing is really a science that most don’t really takes a lot if work, time,effort, and love.
I believe dolomite lime brings it up and bloodmeal brings your medium down. Or vice versa. I don’t remember. I gotta look into it and get both soon myself.
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. I need to do some reading on adjusting ph and what is used to amend it. I was kinda excited when I tested my tap water at 6.5. But overlooked testing the ph of the nutrient mix afterward. I had just read that growers were using the Fox Farm liquid nutes and just mix as per directions on bottle. I’m adapting. Now if I can get adapted to not killing a so far successful grow…
Yea, then once you get the ph down, you wanna watch your Ppm’s with a tds meter.

Hello. new grower here also. So we have established you need a ph meter and you have been giving nutrients without ph’ing (sp) the water after the nutrients. Or checking mix prior or after feeding with a tds ppm meter. And you have been feeding for at least 4 weeks and the plants havent been up taking nutrients properly,. I would say it is time for a flush. Especially if you have been feeding fox farm nutrients. Your soil is probably full of salts from the nutrients. This will cause lockout also.
Definitely see some nutrient burn, and calcium deficiency.
Probably wouldn’t hurt to do a flush, add cal mag, and you’ll need to get a ph meter, ph everything accordingly. 6.2-6.5.
I use simple lemon juice ph down and baking soda ph up. It takes very very little lemon juice to make a big swing down. It takes a little more baking soda for me to see a significant rise.
I made the same mistake and went through the flush process last week. After it was done and dried up I could see all that excess salt stuck on the sides of my pots. The first 2 pcs are of the burn on my plant. The last is a pic of the still growing bud on the same burned plant. I took the advice from @Hellraiser@Zee and @Covertgrower and really flushed with ph balanced water and things turned around quickly. Don’t expect to see those leaves recover as the damage is permanent but should stop spreading.
If you are going to continue using fox farm grow big and tiger bloom, I definitely recommend including Big Bloom. It is low dose major nutrients but has other good stuff in it. It increases ph while grow & tiger are big time ph decreasers.
Since you said flower I assume you meant Tiger Bloom.
Lastly, use the soil feeding schedule. Using FF OF and the Trio, calmag is a standard add on as is flushing or at least water only a couple of times depending on how your runoff measures.
Get the ph issues squared away and you should have a successful harvest.
Yes to the Big Bloom. I have been using BB @ 3T per gallon every other day. Guess I was just lucky in a way, sin e I was not ph-ing the nutes all along. I gots a ph meter. Actually 2. One is digital and one is analog. I will be on the ph from now on. I mixed 1.5t of dolomite lime to 800 ml and spilt between the two plants last night before lights out. Followed up this morning with h2o and 200 ml of the dolomite solution. I ph tested it before Adding. It was like 9.39 . The look same but happier.
