Hydro Growers - what are your NPK ratios including calmag?

Thank you @OGIncognito. I just got back from my trip and the plants look great… they definitely need some defoliation. Looks like it’s in preflower.
Should I wait to defoliate for 2-3 weeks?

Thanks for the help. I can’t stress enough how much help everyone has been on this page. I’m hoping to be able to pass it forward as I get more experience. I did give them a lite defol yesterday and made the switch to Bloom. Looking really good today… I’m seeing a faint purple in the edges of the leaves. Could this still be the nutes or just the result of them being purple strains? (GDP and Zkittles)

PH 5.8
PPM 877

Hopefully the latter, nutrients wouldn’t have that affect. Nice clean up, don’t forget to add jacks Boost with the 10-30-20, there’s no calcium in the bloom :love_you_gesture:

I have boost but have never used it as my calcium levels are pushing 64ml/l out of the tap. Their directions aren’t the clearest. Especially for hydro. I’m just running approx 3.5g per g of the 10-30-20 + silica and hydroguard. Prior to that I just ran 15-5-20 and epsom. Knowing the above should i be adding boost?

Your suggestion to add Silica was spot on. My stems are significantly thicker/stronger than previous grow.

Please forgive the nube question, “but” :joy:, can you explain 4/2 schedule?

It’s 4 grams of the 5-12-26 and 2 grams of the calcium nitrate

I’m growing GDP right now and I’m in early veg. My new growth has a purple tinge to it when it’s really small and then the purple goes away. But it looks like that before it goes away.

But, that second pic has me concerned about the bottom leaves. You might have brought this up already, I haven’t caught up on the older replies of this thread but you might have a Mg deficiency down there. I could be wrong but I think internal chlorosis on older growth is a big red flag for Mg

Yes, good catch. And thanks for calling it out. I was using the soil nutrient schedule vs the hydro schedule and was cooking my girls… I luckily caught it early and corrected it a few weeks ago. They bounced back very quickly with the help of our fellow Growmie’s @Autos-only @OGIncognito in particular. It originally looked to me like mag diff, but after looking at the Jacks Bags (first time using Jacks), I noticed the hydro amounts which are MUCH less than the soil levels. Newbie mistake on my part.

With running 15-5-20 TAP due to my high calcium tap water, 63ml/l. Should I run some part B with Bloom? The way I read the schedule, which is a bit confusing for continuous feed, it looks like to run bloom solo. I do notice though that the MAG level is also reduced to .5% vs 1.5% in the Bloom mix. I also see your point with the calcium as it’s at 3% but there’s nothing in the Bloom. I wish their continuous feed directions were more descriptive. Not sure what to do.

So I did some topping a few days ago and the plants started to droop, I assumed it was from that. But then I started to notice these spots on the leaves so now I’m not sure what’s wrong. Room and res conditions are perfect so it’s none of that. There’s some purple on stems but I’m also growing GDP so I’m not sure if it’s a bad sign or not.

Rh 62%, temps 75, res temps 68, water level 1” below pot. It’s DWC.

Compared to yesterday the tops perked up a little but the affected leaves got worse. It seems to be affecting the middle leaves the most as seen below.

Hey Brother, I’m a newbie so take what I say with a “warning label”:joy:. But I want to try and help if I can. I’ve noticed after a top, my girls take a few days to recover and they will show some drooping. I’ll back the lights down just a bit for a few days and by the 3-5th day they”re back to it. The yellowing I see on your leaves almost looks like it’s getting too hot. Is the black rim collecting too much heat from your lamp and in turn burning your leaves? It doesn’t take much…

All going well, the girls are in need of another trim. Running them at approx 800ppm,5.8ph, 1ml tribus, 1ml hydrogrow, 1ml silica. Was thinking about nudging the nutes up to 900-950 with a boots of 100-150 ppm of 10-30-20. Any thoughts on this? @Autos-only @OGIncognito @Hershy420 @StonedCold13 @Ickey @gummytape

looking very bushy, almost like it’s at risk for mold in my opinion, that is insanely bushy. lol but on the other hand, it looks really good too, very full, very nice job

It’s ok we’re bouncing back over here!

They look good with what you’re running at the moment, I don’t personally see a need to up the nutes :man_shrugging:t2:

Looking good Growmie, are you running jacks 321 and transitioned to 10-30-20 for flowering? I wouldn’t add or change the nutrient PPMs unless they started showing a deficiency. I run 800ish and the plants do well :love_you_gesture:

Yea, I need a hedge trimmer for these girls😂. defoliating again this weekend. I thought they were going to be small being auto’s. It says they should only get 36” tall but they’re almost to my chest already and they still have a month to go. I have a dehumidifier running 24/7 but may end up needing to do something drastic if it gets any worse
