Im about to order some nutes for this next round of plants im starting. Is this the jacks a b that people tend to use for growing cannabis? They have a lot of different ratios of npk in the same looking bags, so i want to make sure i order what i need. Also what else will i need to go from seedling to harvest. Any help is always appropriate. Thank you all in advance.
I bought the 25lb bags of A & B and a 18lb bag of agricultural epsom salt. This is the schedules I’m currently using.
I know im super green at the gardening. And never used jacks. How do you determine what mpk ratio you are putting in? And do i need to look for an a and b with lower mpk numbers?
No. But it is best to weigh by the gram as @Fieldofdreams said. He knows stuff.
You will need ph up and down, cal mag. What soil?
Yes. That is the Jacks A and B. You need epsom salts too.
No cal mag is necessary: Part B has the calcium and the Epsom has the magnesium. You do want to run silica which goes in first. Than Part A, let it dissolve, the Epsom and Part B. You will want an accurate scale: I bought one off of the A for $15. PH to whatever medium you’re in.
And those are the right products.
I thought he meant if he needed anyting else for the grow. I seem to have to add it to all mine.
Are you running very high PPF? That could make plant C hungry I suppose. I’ve never had a single issue with Jack’s in Autopots. Plants are healthy and green all the way to harvest.
I think i understand. So for veg use 3.6 grams or a, 2.4 grams of b and then 1.2 grams of epson salt. Is this the correct way to to measure out what i need per gallon of water?
I run a mix of composted soil, and fresh earthworm castings for my soil mix. I could probably stand to add some coco choir. But what ive been using seems to work ok for me.
@TeNNWisKeY, mix Jacks in this order. First add silica, if used. Next part A, and mix this until completely dissolved. Next mix in the epson salts, this dissolves easily. Then add the part B, this is easier to dissolve than the A.
Finally adjust the ph for the medium used. I like to use a dark colored bucket to mix two gallons at a time. The dark color makes it easy to see when dry ingredients are dissolved.
I don’t think u should mix coco and soil. They both need different ph.
Fair enough so far ive had good luck with what I’m using.
Roots Original soil is a blend of coco, perlite, and composted ingredients. They have the ratios dialed in to were you have the benefits all the ingredients.
For veg this is a per gallon mixture. I suggest you get a wave maker to drop inside your bucket or wherever you are mixing nutes. Add each nute separately and allow them to fully dissolve before adding the next. I add nutes in this order.
Silica first - will give your plants strength so that when you grow fat buds that you will not need to support with stakes
FishSh!t - microbes for strong roots
3.6 grams Part A
1.2 grams of Epsom salts
2.4 grams Part B
I nuke a bowl of water to warm up from the gallon, i put my part A and epsom in it to help disolve all nutes. Will heat second bowl for part B to dissolve in. Let mixture stand 15 minutes prior to feeding.
Not sure of the exact reason it needs to sit, has something to do with the Nitrogen i believe.
What type silica do i need. Because i currently am not usingg any.
I use Armor Si and there are a bunch of different ones out there.
@TeNNWisKeY i have been using botanicare silica blast
