How do I tell when the seedlings in a solo cup need to be transplanted to a larger pot?

That’s quite the setup. I can only dream of something like that.

I have never gotten anything from HLG or chilLED Tech, except quality buds. I use my personal results to guide and mentor others, as I had done for me is all.

Just do some research on here and online before spending your hard earned money is all anyone here wants for you. HLG makes great lights, others use blurples successfully in their grow space. But ultimately you need to figure out how many plants you want maximum and the footprint you wish to light up. You can call any company and ask specific questions on how many actual watts they deliver, the footprint area, etc. Main difference between a company like bestva and say HLG is customer service. I have not called HLG ever, but many growers here have and had a great review on the service they got. Most cheaper lights come from China and you may not get any answers. I’ll tag @dbrn32, he has alot of knowledge on lights and can give you unbiased opinions.

@Highwayman420 That was not aimed at you. It is a true statement though. I can’t for the life of me figure how you thought that. I’m sure people are not looking just here. I only said it so people new to be careful and make up their own mind and do some research.

I’ve been looking at lights, and one I’m interested in is a Bestva 4000 W (the description said 450 actual wattage) full spectrum. I think it said it was 4’ by 5’. $390.00 Do you think the 450 Watts is accurate?

I don’t have the 4000 but all the rest I have are what they say they are. Buddy of mine got the w600 bat and with a watt meter it was right there within a couple of watts to 650 which is what they say.

As for customer service there is a very popular forum that a customer service representative frequents. On there they say it is good. Me I don’t know because of the 4 I have had for 2 years and 1 I had for 1 year and the bat I got for buddy just recently I’ve never had to use it because we have had no problems. That is how I like customer service never have reason to call.

I will not on purpose disrespect anyone here. Sorry for the confusion.
Hlg is a good light I’m not going to knock it.
If you look back at the bottom of the post I say my deciding factor was color and a leaf. Sometimes it’s all about 2 equal products being marketed differently. You like that marketing I like this. We have to be who we have to be.
Have a nice day dude.

Right on homie. Smokin’ on some sample bud from my recent afghan kush harvest and it’s fire!!! You have a great one too my friend.

The reason I said that, is I thought it was you that told me that the Phlizons I have were only 100 Watts, when they claimed to be 600. So I’m kind of wary, I wasn’t making a judgement about the quality of the lights or business ethics of HLG and chilLED. Have a good one!

That was me and it was from the actual website that sold them. It’s pretty common they do this to people. That’s why I suggested reputable vendors. I’d hate to hear you got a knockoff light that you paid good money for, when it could have went towards a really good light all along.

Thanks. I can’t tell you how much help the info you’ve given me has been. Half of what my brother’s telling me is wrong, so I’ll be sending more questions soon.

I actually like my 300w bestva. It is not a main light for me but i will single out a couple under it at times. It grows plants great.

Hi, hope you’re doing well. I need more of your advice. I was wondering if I should transplant from my solo cups, right to their final home? And, how many gallons should my pots be, if there are 8 plants in a 5’ X 8’ X 7’ high space? Thanks again!

I take them straight from solo to permanent home. In my case that is a 5 gallon fabric pot or a 5 gallon air pot. Ithink i like the fabric better. If i had the room i might try 7 gallon. With your space you could try them. So either 5 or 7 your preferance try them both this time 4 of each. Decide after that for next time. Look for a plastic pan for a dog kennel that 4 feet long get 2 set them in grow space and put pots in them. It is easier than having individual catch pans for each plant. That way you onlt have to shop vac water fr 2 spots instead of 8. Also can take those to car wash and preasure wash at end of grow to keep clean. Super easy. Cleaning up those salts is a bitch. I also have a 2 gallon batter operated shop vav from wall mart to clean up the run off. You don’t need cordless but for me its easier.
Hope this helps
I’m just going to mention this i paint the top 4 inches of my fabric pots with flex seal so water has to go down befofe out the side.

Once again, thank you.

That’s some great info my friend. I’m gonna start doing that for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Hated first grow with them pour water in and it would just run to the side out the bag and down the sides to the catch pan only way to thoroughly soak pots was to let it wick water back up. Or take forever and put it in 1 cup at a time. Now i can hit all 5 with a 3rd of a gallon then by the tine i finish no. 5 start over with first 1. Three rounds and vacuum up run off.

Thanks. Love flex seal. Gonna try that with this living soil.
