How do I tell when the seedlings in a solo cup need to be transplanted to a larger pot?

Cool I’ll tag you in my grow journal, post questions there and we’ll get you straight.

A room like that definitely full spectrum lighting.
I do think blurple light’s have there purpose. I have a whole tent full of them and grow some big dank bud. If I had hieght space would definitely have bestva w600 true 650 watts bat or some of there 4000 watt full spectrum true 425 watts.
HLG is a good choice though just not mine. Many peeps here run them with great results.

Is using full spectrum overhead and crappy 600 watt (in reality 100 watt) Phlizons on the sides a good idea, or not? Thanks for the tip. I’ll check out bestva.

I love my Mars Hydro lights, I hear people bash them on here but haven’t had a problem with them in 4 years.

Check out their FC and FCE series. I run 3x FCE4800 in a 5x12x7 tall area and got out for under $1350 for spread. I’d love a ChilLed light but not willing to spend $1250 for about a 1/3 of the spread of these 3 together.

My center ppfd is (on average) 984 and my lowest outside corner is 592.

Sure I personally would.
Looked at those and as someone who uses blurples I think you could push those down to about 12 to 16 inches from top of those babies and be alright. From me experience you can push blurples pretty close without hurting plants or flowers. My buds get within 10 inches of mine without bleaching. If I let them get to the 6 to 8 Inch mark the tips will bleach. That closeness is why I like them in my 54 inch tall tent. In my 80 inch tall I am slowly converting to full spectrum. I do have 4 lights in it wall to wall 3 blurples and 1 full spectrum. I will be changing that soon to a layout of blurple, full spectrum, blurple, full spectrum, blurple still wall to wall. No light spread. Let me change that to each plant has a light above it. The light spread spreads under another light. Will always be that way. Didn’t want anyone calling me out to say with my lights there is no way to avoid light spread. 690 actual watts of power 5 to 6 plants 55x28x80 inches. Big dank buds.
Short tent 24x36x54 inches 550 actual watts all blurples. Again big dank buds.

So in total I have 6 of those lights. U can section off an area in the room to keep the light in that area more and use all lights and get atleast a grow out of it I would see into a good light if u wanna keep at it and use the ones u have now as add ONS or use some for vegging the plants. 5x8x8 is alot of light to fill it all and good light cost $

It honestly depends on how much of a footprint you actually really want and how many plants you plan on growing in your space. Figure that out first and then build the light setup around that. I’ve heard decent reviews on Bestva, you can also look at Spider Farmer. They’ve recently been hitting the scene hard with really decent lights.

I like to wait a few days longer than most to transplant out of the solo cups. One of the signs that they’re ready is when they start being thirsty every day. I want to make sure the roots are developed enough to hold the soil together. For me, it’s usually around day 15 or 16.
This is my last bunch of seedlings, pic was taken right before I transplanted them.

Hello Cap… I was reading about your reusing soil. What do you grow in? I’m thinking of using FFHF over with new added. Maybe half and half?

Thank you very much! I’m going to have to invest a little more money in lights, but I think it’ll be worth it.

I have a 4x8 i run auto and vegging photo in. I use a light rail. I have 3 550r rolling back and forth at 70%or so. The rails have made a huge difference in coverage. Can use smaller lights if need because of the movement. Coverage is complete. I could use any decent light with them and get full coverage.

Thanks!

I have metal rods attached to my ceiling that I can slide my lights back forth on. How often do you move the lights?

Light rails have a motor. Can adjust movement speed and hover time. They move all the time lights are on.

I use Mother Earth Coco Peat. It’s soil, but it has a good amount of coco in the mix. It drains better than soils I’ve used previously, and my plants get thirsty faster. I have some big autos going now in 5 gallon fabric pots and they’re thirsty pretty much every night. I’ve had no problems reusing it several times now. Every other grow I mix in several handfuls of new soil in each pot, and everything has been going great.

Take your time do your research buy 1 at a time. Don’t jump with both feet in. You may get one and decide it’s not for you. Just because someone else likes it and gets good results does not mean that’s you. Also some will say get this because they get free stuff. That is why I say do your research Don’t rely on others. Know what you buy.
Besides the specs which are equal or close to some others. The reason I chose bestva is I like the color and the leaf. Didn’t go just by that but it did tip the scale. Never ever will I buy a red light or car for that matter. No matter how good the build. Some people love red just not me.

You could put them on a swivle. Think upside down turn table. Blurples on one side and full spectrum on the other and turn it back and forth 180. Or make complete circle put 4 light 1 in each pie quarter and turn it 90. Do it once a day or 4 times a day they won’t care.
