How will RSpec leds work for vegetative stage?
Not able to have separate veg/flower set ups.
Thanks.

Good throughout the lifecycle of the plant. There is plenty of blue spectrum to support veg.
It’s odd, because on the HLG site it says this re the HLG 260 RSpec:
“Not Recommended for Veg”.
What am I missing here?
Thanks.
I run several HLG 300 RSPECs from seedling to harvest with great success ![]()
They sell lights that are specifically for veg. If they can sell you one light for veg and one for flower they’ve just made twice the profit.
The HLG BSpec is strictly a veg light due to missing the red spectrum. The RESPECS have less Blue but increased red spectrum for optimum flowering. The 260 is still a full spectrum fixture ![]()
Not sure where you might have seen that. Most of us run Rspecs in one form or another from seed to harvest.
Its on the HLG website in a chart listing the light’s features
Can you post a screenshot of what you see?
Looks like the far red models are only listing flower footprints, maybe this is what he’s referring to?
700 rspec far fed
You know, i msy have seen this on one of the retailer’s sites, not HLG’s site. Will check
I would say this is misguided. Virtually all of us who are not running burples or HPS/MH are running Rspecs from HLG or Spider Farmer, etc… with great results from seed to harvest.
I remember seeing Not recommended for veg when they first came out the RSpec - Far Red lights. I gave it a quick look but couldn’t find that specific language.
I have several 260 RSpec lights. I run them from beginning to end.
Nice plants !! ![]()

That is one of my favorites. I need to get more beans of that. My mother finally played out.
Yeah, I’m a basement grower an always get nice color with GDP. Gold leaf is one of my favorites.
Thanks for the tag greg ![]()
You are welcome. Its about to go down in the room!!!
Hlg did change some light features. Some common lights aren’t recommended for veg.
