Hello All, my first post in the forum. I am a newbie first time grower and I went into it with minimum research. I ordered some feminized seeds from ILGM because I read somewhere they have the highest yields. Ordered some fabric posts, soil and germinated my seeds end of November that past. I live in Tropic climate. So after my seedling sprouted I moved them outdoors and long story short I didn’t realize the role that the amount of daylight plays in plants. They started flowering probably within 2 or 3 weeks and as a result my plants are some super shirt still ( like 5 inches) and some in the 8 to 10 inch range. I believe that flowering super early stopped their development.
So I realized what was going on kind of late because I thought having buds that early was something normal.
Anyway its been 3 days now that I have them under an outdoor light once it gets dark with hopes that they are going to revegg and hopefully start growing again.
Question: How long that might take? Weeks?
Also, if some of the plants do decide to start revegg what’s gonna happen with the thick buds they have already formed?
Any advice would be welcome.
I am very bummed with my newbie mistake should have purchased autoflower instead…
Were they photo or auto seeds? Sounds like auto. Just let it grow and enjoy!
Welcome to the forum @Amorcito
Can you say approximately where you are? If you don’t want to then what are your daylight hours currently and what will they be in the coming weeks.
Yes, if the hours get longer it will reveg and grow bigger. Once it develops new growth you can remove the current buds and leave the new branches. It will look pretty funky until it gets bigger.
Unless as @Mucluc asked, if they are autos then they wont reveg
A lot of people grow photos under 12/12 from seedling and get great results. I don’t think it was a mistake?
As long as day time and night time temps are acceptable for rapid growth you should also see good results.
What happens if I don’t remove the buds? Some of The plants already have some new leaves coming out I will post pics.
I live in the Caribbean
On the last picture ignore the 5 seedlings on the bottom, I just put those out a few days ago. The rest of them though are growing from beginning of December and I think that they tiny because they flowered super early because they weren’t getting enough light hours. So pull the buds now or wait till I am sure they are revegging? And what if I live the buds on the plant? Will that be beneficial?
Buds will be fine.
You can remove them when they wont account for more than 30% of the removed plant.
A newbie mistake is starting with auto. You did perfect. As mentioned above since photo get them back under 18 hours of light and they will reveg back to veg state. Will take a bit but worth the wait and growing experience. Welcome to the forum and to growing.
Thank you
@Amorcito welcome to the family my friend happy growing
Top picture, single, elongated leaves, looks like revegging to me. I have that happen in the spring when I start my outdoor stuff. Days are so short that they will start to flower and need to re-veg. They always come back.
