Have you had an auto that's really a photo?

question for those who ended up with photos sent instead of auto seeds… did you ever plant the other seeds in the pack and were those also photos? i have two seeds left and having a photo outdoors is a giant monkey wrench. curious if that means they mixed an entire bag or just one seed.

Its possible just one seed reverted. Genetics of autos contain ruderalis genes. Like any natural seeds in nature sometime plants will differ. Some autos flower quickly and some take some time. Perhaps this trait was dominated by photo type dna even though it was from autoflower stock.
You wont know what those seeds will do till you plant them.
Is it possible they were simply photo seeds? Sure. But impossible to know for sure.

I ordered blueberry autos from ilgm and they accidentally sent blackberry photos. Luckily they mark their packaging so I didn’t plant a photo thinking it was an auto. (They immediately sent the correct seeds after I notified them, props to ilgm)

I had an auto go almost 160 day, I thought I got a photo seed as well but the way she grew was all auto genetics.

“how she grew”… what’s the tell? i feel like i may never know.

160 to flower??? or total. total, right? i think i’d be about that if it went into full flower tomorrow AND it finished in 8 weeks.

i’m already here now, so gonna stay the course, but not sure i ever want to do this again. unless it makes it to harvest and leaves me pounds of smoke .

It was about 160 days total

ha yeah. guessing you’re not growing in the snow. but dang, that is a long time. what is it about how it grew that told you it was an auto?

You have to remember @Agrestic that these seeds are stabilized through genetic breeding that involves thousands and thousands of plants. Even all of that can’t fully breed the “photo” out of the plant and you will be left with some seeds that will actually be photos or a hybrid called super autos which will grow very tall but will still flower with out light changes.

Of course, even though you can’t fully breed out the “photo”, the genetics are very stable, so if you got just one seed like this I would say it’s a very rare pheno type that couldn’t fully be bred out of the equation, however two seeds probably indicates a mix up when they packaged them.

30 days after sprout she went pre-bloom, 2 weeks later full flower, then it was waiting her out. I will have to go back to my journal to get specifics. This was was part of my June grow if I remember correctly and didn’t harveat til mid-December.

oh gang you DID grow in the snow. i just went through that “auto” grow. you kept her outside in 20 degrees… that gives me some hope. it shouldn’t get that cold here til Jan.

Coldest we get that time of year is mid to high 40’s. We don’t get 20’s til Jan/Feb. That’s why I was all excited about my Fall grow (highs about 70-80 days and 50ish nights with very low humidity make for awesome colors) but now it’s not happening .

Most Christmases are spent in shorts and t-shirts. We don’t gift toboggans or sleds here .

whereabouts are you? for some reason thought you were upper NE but maybe have you confused with someone.

unpleasantness aside, interesting to see her outside with frost.

Can I see a photo of your plants?? What strain is it? Is yours outdoors or indoors?

i’m outdoors and it’s an amnesia haze. other two are normal autos and finishing up next week or two.

seems like i’ve been in preflower for months but i also don’t know what revegging looks like. there are streetlights and porch lights which is why i wanted autos. i think the lights may be affecting it.

Calling @Mrcrabs. I’m not an outdoor wizard but right off the bat I see something that looks like a mite? Issue. That looks like a re veg. Is it a dinafem XXL amnesia haze? The xxl go longer and do some funky stuff outdoors. I gave two beans to a friend to try outdoors and he swore I screwed up and gave him a photo. Take some 3/4” pvc and build two arches on either side and cover it with black plastic for the appropriate 12 hours of darkness every night and uncover in the morning for 3-5 days and that’ll get her going. Sometimes you have to trick them for a hot second and then they will finish up. Btw. That’s a monster and you have to be sure to keep posting photos as she finishes because in the stretch she could blow up and you might get a monster yield!

thanks for checking it out. i do have a journal going here - almost harvest time for my northern lights and blueberry autos. and these are all ILGM seeds.

should have posted a mottled color warning. she’s been like that since a baby. thought it was mites and then maybe TMV, but i think it’s just a variance. she’s “special” it seems in a few ways.

i am moving her to my side yard at night which is more shielded from the street lights and will see if that finally flips her, though the pvc is a great idea- thanks.

I’m with you on the bug thing, this is bug bites on a plant , they are more random, I would say tmv, but I’ve never experienced or dealt with it, it could be a special plant, I’ve seen some others post plant pics like that with no ill effects :+1:

and for the revegg plant , just make sure she gets full darkness imo. Lovely plants my friend

Thanks!

Yeah if it was bugs or a virus she’d be dead by now and so would my other plants. it’s every millimeter of her and there are a lot of millimeters. she’s just steppin out to show us all she’s a special lady. now just gotta get her through hurricane season and possibly some frost… my journal’s not gonna wrap up any time soon.
