Germinating experiment

Trying 3 deferent starter methods . They are in order from left to right.
First 2 are. In ROCKWOOL, next Jeff’s puck ( peat) and next is what’s in my autopots cococoir/perlite (hasn’t sprouted)
Started 4 days ago. Plants are from left to right are Bruce Banner, Girl Scout cookie, gorilla glue and another Girl Scout cookie.

Perlite has plenty of moisture when cover is on. Why is any experiment pointless? I totally figured the peat will stunt the plant, it always has in the past but people claim they have success with them. I never tried rook wool before so why not learn how well it works.
My old method of planting in forever pot has not worked well so far .

When they find thier final home thats when youll see which one is more vigorous..not week long test who pops 1st in various media..glad your seeds started..dont waste em

@Adam1jam
You are free to experiment with your seeds all that you want sir. Good luck moving forward!

Your experiment isnt pointless, the same guy was bashing me in my journal

Whether or not it’s pointless (IMO, it is) depends on one’s perspective. I’m sticking with the tried-and-true method of a 12-24-hr soak in a glass of water followed by a moist paper towel.

I’ve seen seeds pop after 5-6 hours in water, while others take several more days in a paper towel womb. What’s that prove?

Ok folks, we are here to encourage and not disrespect. If he wants to experiment, and has the extra seeds, then why not? What works for him may not work for you, but to each their own right? Ive been growing for years and still experiment. You keep on doing what youre doing @Adam1jam

There is no tolerance for disrespect here. Thatll catch you out the door quicker than you came in.

Facts!!! We all family here and by nature we’re supposed to pick and play but never discourage somebody from trying something they have never tried before!!! @Adam1jam keep on keeping on Growmie :oncoming_fist::fire::evergreen_tree::speaking_head: :dashing_away:

Sometimes I want to ask people like them why do you waste so much of your time ridiculing people about what they do with theirs…

Experiment has to do with stunting plants. Not how fast they sprout. Example peat product have always ended with stunted plants. Yet some people swear by them so in experiment I cut the fiber wrapping off to see if that’s what caused stunting. I’ve got enough seeds to last me a life time so why not experiment?

Your experiment is very cool and could be useful for a few people too. Don’t get discouraged by this self-proclaimed grow god.
He has been all over the forum yesterday, putting people down and insulting a bunch of experienced growers…
He has nothing worthwhile to bring to the table and likes to bring other people down. Don’t mind him, he’s been “silenced” by the moderators for now and if he keeps on like that, he will surely get banned.

You do you Sir @Adam1jam and bravo for this initiative!
Following avidly.

:rofl::rofl: Truth be told proof is in the pudding and I don’t see their product coming from the kitchen :rofl::rofl::rofl:

In another reply to somebody else, he was claiming that seedlings don’t have any roots development to soak up nutrients before they were at least four nodes high… :man_facepalming:

Do y’all mind if I get back on topic?

I’m not trying to argue with you or belittle you, @Adam1jam; just giving my “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” opinion on your topic. I assumed that’s why you posted, to solicit opinion and commentary.

I grew my first weed - successfully - by doing it almost entirely the wrong way, according to conventional wisdom. Wrong lighting, wrong soil, wrong nutes. But those wrong way grows produced average yields of primo bud.

So experiment on and challenge the status quo. And remember what Ronnie Raygun said: “Trust but verify.”

So @Adam1jam ? Any progress on your experiment?

Rookwool and peat starter are going wild, the one in perlite/cococoir never sprouted. Here’s some current pics after planting in autopots.
