Germinated seeds won't sprout. Light for germination?

Popped two freebies. Germinated them regularly and got a half inch taproot before planting into Jiffy Pellets.

I haven’t had either sprout from the Jiffy in over two days. How long does it usually take? Seems longer than usual.

Do you keep light on when waiting for the germinated seed to sprout from soil?

Yes. They will need light. Can take a week or more at times. Still early so not time to worry. Can dome them under the light if dry air. Not a lot of light and domed helps keep light down a bit also.

Probably beside the point now, but those peat pods suck. I get 100% germination by planting seed directly in moist soil, and putting a baggie over the solo cup.

I’ve got them domed at 85% RH and 74-76F. Small seedling light I’ve turned on.

I’ve had a couple people tell me that. I’ve always used them because CocoForCannabis recommends and I just listen to a lot of what he says. I know he’s not always right… still haven’t tried planting directly in soil. Maybe next time.

I use my coco and just compact it a bit. Nothing fancy

I cover the tray with a Mondi dome

I do what @Dexterado does. Seed in soil…haven’t lost any, YET. I don’t like the pod things either. Seems like an extra step. But, lots use them.
